  1. 1. What has been the biggest story of the offseason?

    • Redskins mega-trade with the Rams for #2 pick
    • The Saints, Williams and Bounty-gate
    • Peyton Manning and where he will play next
    • Trading Tebow to the Jets
    • The NFL punishing the Skins and Cowboys, docking them $46 mil in cap space
    • RG3's combine and Pro Day performances
      0
    • Something else entirely

Two NFL insiders, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the topic, said that Philadelphia Coach Andy Reid was ready to walk away from the Eagles if he didn't get more personnel control, and now he has it. We've seen a flurry of decisive moves by the Eagles in recent weeks, including finally cutting a blockbuster deal with receiver DeSean Jackson extending two good soldiers, defensive end Trent Colt and right tackle Todd Herremans outbidding the Ravens to keep guard Evan Mathis; and trading for a Pro Bowl linebacker DeMeco Ryans.

Something else about the Eagles: Reid wanted to jump in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, despite the signing of Micheal Vick to a six-year, $100-million contract last season. Talks never got too serious, the insiders say, because Manning didn't like the idea of playing against his brother Eli, quarterback of the NY Giants, at least twice a season.

The 'Walrus' has vehemently denied this ultimatum and overall pursuit of Peyton Manning. So far, no response from Jeffrey Lurie, or Micheal Vick.

It just keeps getting better and better for the Dream Team.

People make too much of teams 'going for Peyton'. You do your due diligence when Peyton's available.

Still, it's things like this with the Eagles, things like the Cowboys freezing their own kicker, and things like Mara being revealed as a corrupt dick that make me laugh when people like Wilbon continue to refer to the REDSKINS as 'dysfunctional'. Not only are the Redskins stable, and in control, it appears they will be for quite awhile, as the rest of the East hasn't even begun their 'rebuilds'.

If I had to decide between having a 37-year-old Peyton Manning coming of four neck surgeries and keeping Michael Vick...I'd keep Vick. And I'd do a better job at finding a way to protecting him and trying to keep him healthy, and Peyton would be the furthest thing from my mind.

There's "due diligence", and then there's what it seems like Andy Reid's doing; desperately trying to reach a Super Bowl before his contract with the Iggles expires.

Keeping vick protected is a problem vick causes. He's always had issues with getting sacked or hit.

What are the Giants rebuilding from?

Up until last season, the Eagles made some pretty solid FA moves. They rarely paid people too much, didn't go out and sign every superstar they could, and won the division every year. Last year they decided to do just the opposite, sign or trade for 2 big name CBs when they already had one that was great, then ignore the middle of their defense.

I can see why he was angry, putting all your money at CB is stupid.

Every move they made last year, was with the expressed purpose of stopping Green Bay after Green Bay beat 'em up in 2010. Al those corners? They signed them to stop Green Bay. Signing Babin? Gotta rush Aaron Rodgers. And of course you need a Matthews in there somewhere.

Unfortunately they just forgot the safeties and linebacker and "hiring a defensive coordinator that can actually coordinate a defense" part.
