33
Pretty self-explanatory. Obviously he was a massive bust for the Redskins. However, it seems at this point that he has proven WR1or at least WR1B talent. Do you think Joe Gibbs the GM is vindicated, even though Joe Gibbs the coach failed? skinfan2k
Brandon Lloyd himself suggested that he was disrespectful to Joe Gibbs because he wasn't apart of the offense. I agree there but we don't know why he wasn't. i can't say that offense was too difficult because that offense didn't work lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=SX8hqSF8fxw
MrSilverMaC
I don't know that anyone ever questioned his talent. Coming in to the year he first came to the Skins everyone was excited from all the crazy highlight reel catches he made. Everyone knew the talent was there the question with lloyd was always his dedication and his desire to be a rapper instead of a football player. So I guess if someone had questions regarding lloyds ability then yeah Gibbs would be vindicated but I think most Skins' fans, if not the retards in the media, recognize lloyd was and still is just a selfish douche who has managed to pull his head just far enough out of his ass to be successful in the NFL. Hitman21ST
Why? Just because he signed with the Patriots? People need to get off the "Belichick is a good personnel man" kick. His moves of recent have been downright atrocious.

HeluCopter29
I'd say talent wise, yes. Was it a good trade? no. If the dedication isn't there we shouldn't do it.

I agree with everything MaC just said, all the way down to the douche part. The talent and potential was always there, the guy's had ONE great season out of 9. He's a ******* moron with lots of potential, similar to all the other ******* morons, loads of talent and zero heart, that we've had over the years. Peregrine
I think its hard to judge any of the talent that came here. Our coaching and management has been so inept, that good talent and bad talent mostly looked the same. Its true that most players that came here were set up to fail. There are some exceptions, but chances are being unable to judge talent, and coach it, go hand in hand. He always had some crazy ability, but consistency is king, and thats a mindset. I agree the coaching results of the past decade haven't measured up. But hate the phrase "set up to fail". Unless we're talking about the Colt's record last season, what does the phrase "set up to fail" really mean?It sounds more like an excuse for a sorry player, more than anything, to me. And sure Lloyd has "crazy talent", just like everybody and I mean everybody on an NFL roster today. Compared to other receivers, Lloyd is an above average journeyman WR. Agree with you on it being about mindset in this case.

Especially when other WRs were able to have career years on the same team as Lloyd. He was the guy they wanted to succeed originally, but he didn't care about football. He was too busy trying to start a rap career. If Lloyd was "set up to fail" here then he must also have been set up to fail in San Fran, Chicago, St Louis, and Denver (other than the ONLY good year he's had in the league). Brady wouldn't be getting by if Bill Belichick decided to NOT draft two players at a position that was, at the time, still viewed as relatively less impactful than the wide receiver position. Or how he managed to acquire a boatload of picks in the first place... Yes, his success rate is not that good, but he has covered his ass quite well despite that deficiency. They dont have a premier running back, and they dont have a stretch the field WR. This Patriots team is set up very similarly to those Manning Colts teams. Most of their last 5 years of draft picks have been busts too. as for Lloyd, I think everyone knows he is extremely talented. Gibbs did flop tho because he did not take in to account that Lloyd is mental. In saying that, Lloyd seems to have matured over the last 3 seasons. paloosa
Brandon Lloyd has te talent but his overinflated ego is what has made him a douche bag. If you look at his career stats it looks like a train wreck. He has only one yer over 1,000 yards and that was in 2010 with Denver. A guy that is a 10 year vet and only has 4,784 yards in his career with 31 TDs says the whole thing by itself. Gibbs isn't the only one to see how much of an idiot Lloyd is. I don't even know why anyone would question Joe Gibbs evaluation of this guy. ESPN is trying to cater to a guy that plays only when he wants to. Kind of reminds you of Randy Moss. Unless the offense is designed for him he will take off plays. I hope that the Patriots didn't give him much because he won't give you much. I never said it wasn't mostly Brady or that Belichick mostly had flops his picks. But even Tom Brady has his limitations and the Pats amassed such a large quantity of picks that they were bound to hit on a few good ones. I'm sure Brady would prefer with his 2006 receiving corps and not a record-breaking TE. After all, his 2006 season is just as good as the season he had last year. Oh wait.... That's the only offense he seems to thrive in (and McDaniels seems to be the only one who is willing to make Lloyd the centerpiece of the WR corps) so he doesn't want to be exposed by going to another team with a different offense. Why else was he so insistent about going to the Patriots?

He along with Brees just broke Dan Marino's passing record. 5000+ yards and a cloud of dust is pretty much all the Patriots can hang their hats on. I mean, WE scored 27 against them and had the tying TD in our grasp.
