PorkSkins
I'm not buying it. In fact I think it's just the opposite. He's probably having breakfast with Danny and Shanny right now. People that think Peyton is afraid to play in cold weather must have forgot he went to Tennessee. Besides, I don't consider DC or NY extremely cold weather cities. Even Indy gets cold if you are walking from the parking garage to the stadium.
GaryGreenMonk
Article on Bubbas Redskins Breaking News section that says the report that Manning isn't interested in us is not valid, see the CSN article. CSN - No Peyton to D.C.? Not so fast! I think it's best said this way... if we offered more money than everyone else and gauranteed more of it than anyone else.. he'd probably come here. but we won't do that.. so he won't. the end. I don't think Peyton's afraid, that's not the right word, but if he's only got a few years left, it's reasonable to want the easiest road possible to a championship. Why invite the added element of difficulty of weather if you can help it? He certainly can play in the elements, but he's better indoors or warm weather, which doesn't make him unique. Face it, there are more attractive options for Peyton than coming to Washington. Its not just about money for the guy and the weather will likely only play a small part in his decision
Boss_Hogg
Chris Russel is a fool. The guy must hear "sources" in his head because 50% of his drivel is doo-doo. Just look through the other Chrus Russel threads and you will see how how's a mini JLC.
Drastik
Best news of the 2012 off-season so far for this organization. Would be foolish on many levels to invest in a 36 year old quarterback. ---------- Post added March-9th-2012 at 09:28 AM ---------- People that think Peyton is afraid to play in cold weather must have forgot he went to Tennessee. paloosa
I don't think that Peyton Manning is turning down any city or any landing spot like all the experts say. I think that Peyton is going to entertaining all offers and weigh the best opportunity to win a Super Bowl regardless if it is here in Waashington or in Miami, Denver, Kansas City, Arizona, New York (Jets), or any other landing spot. I think that he is going to land at a place where everyone says he is most likely not to land because he wants a challenge. That place could be here in Wshington but it may not be. Why would Peyton Manning want to come here? His brother is in the same division, the coach wouldn't let him run the offense, the offensive line is not that good, he wants to be in the AFC so he can have a possible all Manning Super Bowl, etc, etc, etc... Come on! Do you actually think that Peyton, Eli and father Archie sat around the kitchen table and schemed out that very scenario? Do you think that Archie has that much influence in where Peyton is going to play? Do you think that Archie says to Peyton, "You aren't going to the Redskins or to any team in the NFC East or NFC because your Mom and I want an all Manning Super Bowl?" And Peyton says, Ok, Dad. I know you know what is best for the family." Seriously? Think about that. Peyton Manning allowing his father to dictated where he will play because he wants an all Manning Super Bowl? Peyton is 34 years old, married with kids and he is going to allow his father to tell him where he can play? Stop! Peyton Manning has a list of places he wants to play at but is willing to discuss other possible places to play without any input from his family. Redskins Life
I heard this morning on the radio that not only was this report false, but that Peyton has set up a meeting with the Redskins this weekend. This was a local, Hampton Roads sports station, and I have no link to the comments.

But, he he comes here, I'm sure Shanahan, Allen, and Snyder can be very convincing and change his mind about where he may want to go. If the door is open, which it has been reported to be, anything can happen.
NoTheHeluDidn't
With all this talk about Manning going somewhere that he has the easiest road to the SB...With the exception of the Jets, we have the best team in comparison to the rest of the teams in the "chase." I'm not saying that Peyton would make us SB contenders, but if he were to go by that alone, DC or NYC would be the place he would go. (Note: The Jets are a mess, he knows, and I think there's a .5% chance he lands there.) In reference to Miami, I could see Peyton going there because he has a house there and the weather is nicer, but I laugh to myself thinking that someone as dedicated and focused as himself, that he would pick Miami because the weather is nice! I, with the vast majority of professional athletes, if given the decision, would much rather have a solid team who's only real need to approach the playoffs is a QB, than a place I can get a nice tan! All in all...if we don't get RGIII (preferred) or PM (or both XD)... I can't even say!

And the world champs reside in our division. The AFC West is pretty soft. That's gotta be the easiest path to the division title. You could probably rack up a nice record and home field if you play your cards right.

While I do agree, and the AFC West is a pretty weak division, the Chargers are one team that Peyton has always struggled with, badly! And to the note of the "world champs" residing in our division...As a Redskins fan, I'm sure you're aware that we swept them last year....WITHOUT a QB! Mocountyskins
Chances are that if the Redskins were going to trade for the #2 pick before the draft they would do it after RGIII proday? Or could they do it b4 FA starts?

andy614
Good. I want to draft a QB not pick up an aging one. No offense to Peyton but lets not stop the youth movement. Put the blinders on and move forward. Don't get distracted.

Go get our future, Shanny!! If this report were true, which thankfully it appears that it is not, it would make our moving up to get Griffin more difficult. If we don't have Manning as a way out of dealing for the #2 pick, it gives the Rams much more leverage. This report, true or not, is not a good thing for this franchise when it comes to getting Griffin. Fans who are celebrating this news aren't really thinking this through. Eh, I don't know how much impact that's really gonna have... The Rams have a lot more sources for inside info than whatever gets leaked to the public. Besides, the Browns want RG3 then they'll get him... we'd already have to give up and incredible amount to pull it off regardless of this report. The silly athletes that overspend on bling bling and nickel plated tractors are the ones who need it. Manning is prolly wearing the same clothes from college.... he will get paid regardless, so he isn't just gonna go somewhere just for the money. No way, no how. If he has it narrowed down to 2 teams and one team offers a little more money and a longer contract, then yes. If he has it down to 2 teams, neither being the Redskins and Snyder offers him $5 million more, he wouldn't do it.
