NFL.com: "Report: Redskins already out on Peyton Manning chase"

Really a blessing in disguise, we don't need Manning to be our savior, he is a great QB but he is 36 and coming off of multiple neck surgeries, we need to stop trying to sign or trade for QBs who prime was in 2004, and start thinking about QBs whos prime will be 2015.

Kinda sour he just kinda insulted us like that, it kinda seems he thinks we aren't good enough for him. Also isn't Indianapolis colder than DC I would imagine? DC isn't even that cold, especially this year (even though I have been in Morgantown all year). Either way we have bigger fish to fry, we should really stop settling on old free agent/trading block QBs, 2nd tier QBs in the draft, and journeymen QBs (Campbell, Ramsey, McNabb, Brunell, Grossman, Beck). The only QB we have really taken a chance on that was a 1st tier QB was Shuler and that was nearly 20 years ago, its time to grab an elite prospect for once and take a chance instead of Tannehills and such.

not a surprise...people close to him like Dungy/Faulk have already stated he doesn't want to be in Eli's division...they said he might not even wanna be in the NFC..whatever, this is a good thing for us anyway

Dungy and Faulk, sorry to say are ESPN analysts, and the media freaking hates the skins most of the time. They would hate to see him come here, because then they'd have to realize what a difference a real QB makes vs the fakers down in Dallas. Why wouldn't Peyton want to play his brother twice? What is Peytons W-L record against Eli? I don't buy it. Especially since the alternative is going to Miami where he gets to play against Brady twice a year. LOL. You want a team he should maybe want to Avoid, it's the Pats not Eli.

Peyton is 2-0 VS Eli

If you ask me, IF Peyton is healthy, that Miami is potentially better than the Patriots team unless they improve their defense. Obviously that's a big IF.

I think Peyton would rather put his competitive spirit to use trying to beat Tom Brady rather than his brother.

The same Pats that Eli has beat 3 straight times? lol Dungy is an NBC analyst and Faulk is with the NFL network... 0-3 my friend

Not a big surprise. And yes it is pretty irritating how folks just keep going back to the 'Dan Snyder's money' this and that. It's ignorant. Ignorant to what's been going on for over 2 YEARS now. And it's not just that they refuse to believe Danny's hands are off, it's that no one does any ****ing research before opening their mouths. See, used to be, Dan and Vinny would make clear they were targeting a certain guy, and word would get out. "Snyder wants so and so". Now they just decide that 'Snyder wants this guy'. There is no report or evidence whatsoever of Dan Snyder saying anything about Peyton Manning. It's borderline slander. It's annoying.

I'm actually happy Manning doesn't want to play in Washington. The Redskins need youth at quarterback, not an aging veteran who would've been only a short term solution. There would had been more risk involved in signing Manning, risk that Washington didn't need to absorb. I understand Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan only want to make the Redskins better, but they would've appeared more prudent in not pursuing Manning at all. The Redskins need to get RG3.

Does he mean the same "free-spending owner" that was projected nearly 40 million under the cap going into the offseason?

I'm so sick of the Snyder bashing. Give the man a break.

Also, what's up with this line?: "In other words, don't hold your breath, 'Skins fans. On the bright side, the John Beck/Rex Grossman tag team can still be yours at a very reasonable price."

What a perfect dick you are, Hanzus.

Tired of seeing "Daniel Snyder wants" coming from reporters and media. I sick and tired of them not getting the memo that he no longer is in charge of his X-Box and "Madden Controllers." ShanAllen are in charge of getting the players, not Danny Boy.

you're not the only one. But we all know that the media is deliberately void of the truth.

Its getting annoying!! I think every Skins fan will tell you that Synder has made some bad mistakes! He even said that he has. The media is terrible. They don't do any research.

The front office is doing a good job. This team is rebuilding. And with that comes losing.

Russell was just on 980 within the past half hour and seemed to indicate the main reason for Manning's disinterest was how little the Skins seem to have at this point as a supporting cast.

And while someone else in the thread listed a number of things Miami has, I seem to recall they were running neck and neck with Indy in the "suck for Luck" sweeps for a while there. Not that I'm a huge proponent of #18 landing here, but trying to figure out how the Fins have so much more to offer.

Anyway, Russell said that the Skins probably will have a chance to meet with Manning, but his chances right now of Peyton coming here were "less than 5 percent."

I think we must of put out a take it or leave it offer.

Peyton Manning insists he's made no decision on his possible NFL destination. Sure, Peyton. Sure.

No one in the league believes that. They think Manning has a short list but doesn't want to publicly admit it so he can maximize the inevitable bidding war.

One team official that contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, says he got the definite impression that Manning indeed has already decided where he wants to go, or, at least, the handful of teams truly in the mix. The official, who did not want to be identified, believes that Miami, Washington and Denver are the front-runners. One report states Manning has already informed the Redskins he doesn't want to play for them.

But the official conceded the front-runner will be the team that, in the end, offers the most guaranteed money.

The official believes that contrary to some reports, Manning is indeed open to playing in the NFC, even in the NFC East where his brother Eli, is obviously king of the division.

It's still early in the process but one thing is clear: the Manning derby is fully under way and, despite his public protestations, Manning likely already has a good idea of where he wants to go.

Preach on brother!! Warren Sapp said something stupid the other day about Manning coming to DC. I don't remember what it was, but it made me get out of my chair. **** him!! Smoked fish head eating ****!!
