DM72
www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/double_coverage/2012/02/video_gronkowski_dances_night.html I must say that I don't like it. I understand that some people are wired differently, but I'd expect a SuperBowl loss would sting for a couple of days. Plus, he was supposed to be hurt. Bang
I think Patriots fans who are crying about it are about the most childish ignorant jackoffs that can call themselves football fans. Clue, Pats losers.. this guy PUT YOU THERE. He set records and WAS your OFFENSE. He's also young, rich, and a STAR, and he's at a great party to celebrate his accomplishments. Pats fan.. YOU go CRY. Gronk is living. Ever have a bad day at work and then go out to forget about it? Why is he different, because Patriots fans want him to sit and sulk like they are? Losers. As far as him being hurt.. it probably hurt a lot more on Monday.. he likely couldn't even feel his leg below the knee most of the day. As a football fan I can undertand some Pats fans being bitter,, but they're out of touch with the reality of this young man's life, and how much different it is from ours. ~Bang

DM72
I mean some people handle things differently. Maybe that's his way of dealing with grief? Bang
If we had lost a SuperBowl and Fred Davis was out partying that night, you don't think Redskins fans would be a little upset? Sure they would. And I'd tell them to grow up about it, too. He's no different than anyone else. I'd bet that practically anyone reading this thread would LOVE to be at that party, loss or not. Fans often don't know their role in the thing. Fans expect players to be fans too, and to react the way they do. They're not, and they often don't. He's a player who lost, but he's also a young man with a great life and a terrific opportunity to go to an awesome party to celebrate what is probably the best year of his life so far. I can't blame him a bit. ~Bang
DCsportsfan53
That's why I said some people are wired differently. If you hate losing, I doubt you'll be out partying after a loss. Cut the crap. The season's over, he went out partying, big freakin deal. You've never wanted to go to the bar after a tough day at work? If he had been doing this the night before the SB I could understand why people are criticizing him but this is just ridiculous.
Rdskn4Lyf21
Bang makes a great point. If I have a ****ty day I'm going to want to go out and have a few drinks and have some fun.
KCClybun
What's he supposed to do? Wallow in self-pity? There's only so much you can do. If I had just lost a big game, the only thing I'd want to do would be to go out and have a good time and sort of take my mind off it. He's got an entire offseason to be pissed that he lost the Super Bowl. But if my friends say "hey, let's go out out, have a couple drinks, get your mind off ****", I'd be all for it. There will be time to be solemn later.
pointyfootball
I can see why it might irritate people, as they expect him to hate losing as much as they do. And, if he is able to dance, shouldn't he be able to knock that ball out of the "teacher's" hands to prevent the INT? But seriously, who cares. It was a poor decision on his point PR-wise, but as long as it doesn't affect his performance on the field, not a big deal.
terrifNick21
Fans take the game more seriously than the players for the most part. Players might not feel as upset about it because they've not been with the team as long as fans have been, therefore they're not as quite as emotional necessarily. I have no problem with it. HogNose
It was a bad move by this guy, but I believe the whole party set up by the Pats should have been cancelled to begin with. You don't party like this after losing a Super Bowl. BTW, that high ankle sprain of his looked fine as he jumped up and down like an ass clown. He should have been pissed off sitting by his locker with his head in his hands and then quietly left the building. Sure go have a few drinks and wallow in the misery, but don't go out and party like you just got a ring.

gortiz
Okay - first let me say, I agree with a lot of the pro "its okay he's doing that" agrumetns and opinions, I am a very live and let live guy and Bang you brought up a good point that players are not fans ... but we expect them to act like fans. however, it probably was not in the best interest of the Team to go out and carry on like that after a major setback/dissapointment. Dan T.
The Patriots should trade him right away. We'll take him straight up for Fred Davis and a kilo of chronic.
HogNose
...This is sarcasm, right? Sarcasm? Why did you think it was sarcasm? The guy should have been pissed off about losing the SB, but hey he is a young player and will continue to grow. Ask Welker if he partied after the game? I bet the majority of Pat players were pretty pissed off after losing this one.

Their expectation of how anyone "should" behave after a loss is totally misplaced, and more than a little selfish. Fans live and die by it. For them it's their job. there's an entirely different set of priorities. These fans who are crying because he didn't show proper remorse for losing are the same fans that will discard him and forget him as soon as his career is threatened by injury, or as soon as someone else steps up and makes a play in his spot. Go out, get your head beaten in, play on injuries, take painkillers by the handful and take a shot that deadens your entire leg so you can risk further injury, and of course, over your career take so many shots that it will likely significantly reduce your lifespan. I'll cheer for you. Oh, but if you lose, you better cry over it like I will, because if you don't, I'm going to question your heart. :bluesbros: ~Bang
Dan T.
I reviewed the video of Gronk's dance with Nigel Lythgoe, and he said the dance was clearly a beautiful performance symbolizing anger, disappointment, and despair. So that's good enough for me. Matt Light, on the other hand, was just jumping around like a fool.
KCClybun
Sarcasm? Why did you think it was sarcasm? The guy should have been pissed off about losing the SB, but hey he is a young rookie and will continue to grow. Ask Welker if he partied after the game? I bet the majority of Pat players were pretty pissed off after losing this one. 1.) He's not a rookie. This is his second year. 2.) Again, why should he sit around and cry like a punkass about it? Do I think Welker went out and partied? No. But Welker dropped the pass that could've won them the game. Rob really had no affect on the outcome of the game, positive or negative. If you think a majority of the Pats players didn't go out and try and have a good time...hey, that's your deal. Personally, I would hope that those guys werent sitting around like mopey jerkasses and went out and did something to take their mind off things. Go out with friends, spend time with family, party, whatever. You've got an entire offseason to wallow in a Super Bowl loss. Like I said, if it's me, I'd be pissed and saddened for a little while, and then I'd sort of look around and say "I gotta do something to take my mind off this". That's the problem with context-less stuff like this. Maybe Gronk cried like a ***** in the corner of the lockerroom for a couple hours and then went out after he was done. Maybe he went out to get wasted and then went back to his room and was a depressed wreck. Alls I see is a young dude having a good time, probably trying to distract himself from a loss. Long as he's not trapping girl's in bathrooms with bodyguards holding the door closed or tokin' up...what's the problem?
