Truant
I love it. Thursday nights are far more convenient to go to the bar with some buddies and catch the game. I think this only helps the NFL further ingrain itself into American culture.
88Comrade2000
He also said because of that; each NFL team is guaranteed one primetime game.

My only issue is that they need to improve the NFLN product of broadcasting these games..
Boss_Hogg
Sounds cool, but Thurs games can be physically demanding on the players. I'm okay with it, just keep the Redskins off Thursday night games.
kubstix
So awesome. Was just about to start a thread on this. Love having football on Monday and now Thursday as well.
SkinsHokieFan
As much as I love more NFL, this will interfere with my college football viewing
TD_washingtonredskins
As much as I love more NFL, this will interfere with my college football viewing now you just have options. i doubt that there will be too many nights that have both a college and nfl marquee matchup. i would expect a lot of cleveland/cincy type games on thursdays now. Warhead36
I love the idea of more Thursday night games, but not every team should be on primetime. I mean the Jaguars were given three national TV games last year, whoever decided that should be fired. Now obviously you can't predict the future so I won't kill them for scheduling the Colts as often as they did but primetime really should be reserved for teams you know will be good, or at least entertaining to watch(e.g. I wouldn't mind Carolina being on national TV, even if they're a bad team they're fun to watch with Newton, but teams like the Browns shouldn't be). CrypticVillain
Kinda sucks for people who dont get NFL network. Yeah it does, but how many people don't have NFL Network? I say the number is pretty small since Comcast added it to their regular digital package. On top of that you, every team gets to broadcast the game simultaneously on a free channel if the game is on cable. Here in DC, when the Redskins play on Monday, Thursday, or Saturday night, the game is shown on our affiliate station for MyTV (formerly UPN) I love this move by the NFL. AsiaticSkinsFan
good for the fans, very bad for the players. Goodell talks about player safety and then says he wants more Thursday night games. Goodell's NFL has been about contradiction. Yeah it does, but how many people don't have NFL Network? I say the number is pretty small since Comcast added it to their regular digital package. skinsfanindallas88
Yep TWC customers don't get NFL network and for the unfortunate who don't live in market...guess its off to the bar on thursdays
prsnljournalst3
they should stream it on nfl.com and show commercials.
Highway66
I dislike these primetime games because i have to miss two days of work to attend the games ..... Sunday games at 1pm are the most user friendly for those of us travelling to attend the games
AsiaticSkinsFan
Cablevision in the NYC area also does not have NFL Network I think Goodell is trying to force cable providers into taking the NFL Network by doing this.
ddub52
Great. Now I have to keep an eye on my fantasy football even MORE during the season. This will screw up waiver wires even worse. Not to mention, Thursday night is NOT prime time. This is just an excuse to make sure their MNF lineup has only who they think will be the best games. Not to mention, Thursday night is NOT prime time. This is just an excuse to make sure their MNF lineup has only who they think will be the best games. Was thinking the exact same thing. Fantasy is gonna be a major pain. Say you have 3 RB's in a 2 RB league.. Normally you would wait till Sunday to start or bench 1 of them. Now you have to roll the dice on your 3rd RB on thursday noght if the 2 you normally start and 1 is Questionable.
HogNose
I love it, but this just means I'll be fighting my wife for the remote on Thursday nights. The DVR will be busy.
skinfan2k
i will treat this like MNF. watch til halftime, if the game has redskins ramifications watch til the 3rd at least and if it involves the redskins obviously the whole game
Veretax
I had the NFL network for a while in 2010. I was sorely disappointed in its programming. SO I dropped it. I'm not going to pick it back up just for maybe 1 skins game on Monday night. Now give me a channel where I'm guaranteed I can always watch my favorite team. And then we can talk. Taylor 36
good for the fans, very bad for the players.Goodell talks about player safety and then says he wants more Thursday night games. Goodell's NFL has been about contradiction. No, there were not extra games added to the schedule, nor is this a new thing for players to have the possibility of having a short week between a Sunday game and a Thursday game. If anything, they have more time off to rest than the four teams that have to play on THanksgiving afternoon. Plus, they then get a nice long 10 day rest before their next game. Don't try to make this into a bash Goodell thread please. The only issue I have with these games is that I have to wake up at 5:00 the next day to go to work. Ifthere are three great games one week, that is going to make Monday, Tuesday, and Friday mornings hell.

I know that it will be a little easier to get through the day because it is Friday, but it will still hurt.
