Alaskins
From Rotoworld: Citing sources inside the organization, ESPN 980 Washington's Chris Russell reports the Redskins are "very interested" in free agent QB Matt Flynn. ESPN's Mel Kiper told reporters earlier in the day that "grapevine" talk suggested the Redskins didn't have a high opinion of Flynn. Russell knows "for sure," though, that coach Mike Shanahan and OC Kyle Shanahan had a "detailed conversation" two weeks ago on Flynn's six-touchdown, 480-yard performance against the Lions in the regular season finale. Whereas Charley Casserly suggested Flynn wouldn't be a good fit for the Redskins offense, one team source tells Russell the two systems are "almost the same." I didn't see this posted anywhere. I know we have a Matt Flynn thread going, but I thought that this qualified as new news. I wouldn't be opposed to grabbing Flynn in FA and trying to shore up some of the other areas of need for the team. What do you all think? And yes, I goofed on the thread title. It should be "Per Rotoworld (1/19/12)..."

Unforgiven
So either Mel Kiper Jr. or Chris Russell is a liar or totally clueless. I'm ignoring all the talk at this point anyways.
Truant
I trust LL and Russel is probably just spreading propaganda for us, unknowingly.
GhostofSparta
Are our "insider sources" just ****ing with these guys now, either intentionally or out of boredom? There's no other way to explain 2 polar opposite responses on the same day.
DavidGQ
Russell's source is the same one that Jason Reid uses....hahahhahaha
darrelgreenie
Rotoworld is one of the least credible sources for football info because they regularly cite opinion as 'reports'. Also the local beat reports have very little inside access to the FO. I say this because almost every major scoop comes from the national media i.e. Schefter. Rufus T Firefly
According to RotwitPN, we're considering signing Jason Campbell and Donovan McNabb to 100 mil contracts to tutor our rookie QB, who we'll acquire in the draft by trading up, then down, then up again, then passing on the pick 8 times before surprising everybody by selecting a 12 year old who isn't eligible yet. KDawg
Yes, and Mel Kiper heard from the grapevine. Much more reliable. Trust nothing you hear and half of what you see from now until free agency and the draft. Seriously.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Am I in the ****ing twilight zone? :rotflmao::rotflmao: Seriously, take ANYTHING RW puts out there with a MASSIVE pinch of salt ..... and then take a long hard look at yourself for even venturing onto that bunkum site! NoVaSkins21
Wasn't there another thread about this after the GB/DET at the end of the season? My hope is for RG3, but Flynn wouldn't be a bad alternative.
AKM311
Shannahan is having fun with the offseason man. Playing mind games with everyone. The media, the fans, this board. Everyone. His plan is probably all laid out, but we will never know it. We will continue to hear this nonsense until draft day.

Do you know the cap implications of doing such a move?
beachboy757
So it looks like we are going into 2012 with Jeff Saturday as our center with Peyton, Flynn, and RG3 as our QB's. Look out NFL!! :pfft:

jflow78
I say Kiper and Russell bet on it...........with their jobs. At this point, I wouldn't be too sad to see either find a form of work.

abdcskins
We aren't getting a QB this year, that's what my crystal ball says. Another year of Rex Grossman (re-singed) then sell the farm for Matt Barkley next year. Use all our picks this year to bolster the offensive line, secondary, WR core, and linebackers. I am not opposed to Matt Flynn though.
