AZRedskinsfan
They don't make any sense to me. I'm still waiting to see the Skins play a regular season game in the Cardinals' new stadium in Glendale. We've played the Cardinals at home 3 times since '07 though. And we are playing at the Rams for the 3rd year in a row, after playing them in Washington in 08 and 09. We played them in 06 and 05 as well. Anyone sick of playing the Rams yet? hail2skins
I thought since we played the Cardinals at FedEx and Seattle at CenturyLink in 2008 as part of the NFC West rotation that we would've gone to Arizona last season and Seattle would've come here. But I think it had something to do with limiting travel as much as possible, I don't know. In other years it boils down to playing the last place team, which is why we wind up playing the Rams so much recently, as both teams have been the bottom feeders. It makes plenty of sense. They play one whole other NFC division each year. This year, it was the NFC West. Next year, it's the NFC South. In 2013, it will be the NFC North. They played Arizona at home this year, so in 2014, they'll play at Arizona again.

Warhead36
These threads get made every year. There is no conspiracy. There is a format to how schedules are made. We play our six division games obviously. We also rotate an AFC division every year. We played the AFC North in 2008, so we play them in 2012. The teams we played away, we'll play home this time, and vice versa. We rotate NFC divisions every year. In 2009 we played the NFC South, so we play them again in 2012. Again, home and away are switched. The other two NFC games are based on where you finish in your division. Since we finished fourth in the NFCE, we face the fourth place teams of the other two NFC divisions, the North and West. Since we played at the North(at Detroit where we snapped their losing streak)and home vs. the West(St. Louis where we barely won and the fans booed)in 09, it'll be swapped this year. So it's at the West in 2012 which will be St. Louis, and at home vs. the North which this year is Minnesota.

So you would've thought we would've played Arizona on the road this year and Seattle at home, but that's not what happened, thus the folks who live in Arizona have not gotten to see the Skins in the regular season since 2005 (I think) while the Seahawks haven't come here since 2005 as well. As far as the Rams are concerned, the Skins need to stop finishing last in order to avoid facing garbage teams like that. They'll be facing the awful Vikings too in 2012. Those two teams have become staples on the Skins because they are bad just like the Skins are. They need to stop being bad in order to stop seeing bad teams on the schedule. If I can step in for the OP, I think what he meant was.... I thought the NFL modified their scheduling so teams would actually play home and away games at opponents stadiums so every odd year you would get a chance to see a team at home. So the thought was you wouldn't always play a team in their home stadium, they would flip flop. If we play the same team multiple times on away turf, it wouldn't make sense based on the supposed changes.

MrJL
I wish they'd scrap the playing the one other NFC division part of the schedule. Just have the division games, the 4 AFC games and the other six are random NFC based on record
Missouri_Skins_Fan
I have a question? Does anyone here believe that the Redskins drafting Andrew Luck or RG3, could possibly determine how many Prime Time games we get this next season? Obviously a 5-11 team doesn't get very many. We probably don't deserve any, but we will get the usual Redskins VS Dallas and maybe even a Redskins VS Giants/Eagles matchup. But my question is... Do you think we possibly get 3 or 4 just by the drafting of a Franchise QB(Luck/RG3) and the hype, those 2 Rookies will have for the NFL? Or will the team need to earn it, first? Mark The Homer
We play teams that suck repeatedly because we suck repeatedly. Makes perfect sense.

hail2skins
I'm thinking no, and hoping no, especially when there's a chance the game would be here. I don't necessarily mind going to night games, but there was something nice about having mostly everything at 1 pm this year. I would imagine that'll change when the Skins get good. Heck, we had too many home night games and we've been bad. We suck enough at home as it is, but we REALLY suck at home night games. ---------- Post added January-7th-2012 at 08:38 AM ---------- what i don't get is we play @ pitt & @ saints while pukes & vagiants host those same two. Because the last time we played the Steelers in 2008, we played here, so we'll play there next year. The last time we played the Saints as part of the NFC South rotation in 2009, we played here, so we'll play there nexr year. It was the opposite for the Giants. And guess what? Despite the fact that the Skins will play mainly the same teams as the Giants next year, the two games that are different due to how we finished this year? We play the Rams and Vikings......the Giants will play the 49ers and Packers.

I hope we get no prime time games. I get up early for work and it sucks. Add to that, I think we don't play as well in prime time.

We played the NFC West in 2008, that is correct. However we played the Cardinals away. We had a kickoff return in that game (can't remember his name, believe he is playing with the Steelers now). Anyway he waived to the crowed as he was running down the sideline.
hail2skins
Actually the Arizona game in 2008 was away. Nope. We played the Saints and Cards at home back to back in 2008 after losing the season opener in NY. SFM, the kickoff return game was in 2005 during the 5-0 run to end the season. The guy who returned it was Antonio Brown, but he is not the same guy who is on the Steelers now (I always thought he might of been too!).
