Simple thread, what are some of your bucket list items that you want to accomplish in 2012?

1. I plan on hitting the gym hard after my 2011 was filled with surgeries.

2. I plan on going to a concert in Orlando, FL and visiting SeaWorld.

3. I plan on going to the CMA Music Fest. in Tennessee this coming Summer.

4. I plan on finally getting to Vegas for a UFC fight and some casino play and would love to visit the "Rehab at the Hard Rock" and stay at the MGM

5. I plan on finishing my Bachelors degree and maybe going back in to the military...

So, whats on your list?

good call, I plan on going to Dewey one of these days as well. Places are expensive there but I heard its a blast

Well I kind of lucked into it, because a buddy I go to school with has a group of friends that go there every summer and get a place. He asked me to tag along this coming summer, so it should be awesome. I love going on a vacation where I don't have to make any plans or arrangements. Just pack my own bag.

keep in mind Rehab is only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

I plan on getting back into shape and such. Got diagnosed with cancer this past summer, finally beat it in November. Had a few other injuries through the year as well. But of course I get to start the year off with ankle surgery a week from today.

Keep on trucking man. Glad you're still with us... bucket lists are made for situations like that. Cancer is a terrible evil, glad to see you pull through. I feel ya on the rest, had 3 gum surgeries and an emergency appendectomy and then I herniated my naval area.

Good stuff, should be a blast. I don't know what I'd do if I didnt have vacations and beautiful scenery to look at.... on the beach ;)

thanks pal! it was a battle, but pulled through. i did get a few things done and change my priorities during all of that. so it was a blessing in disguise i guess.

also, i still need a fusion in my lower back, i've put it off for a year at this point already. i guess it will have to wait until my ankle is 100%, cant be hobbling around and have a weak back.

Not sure how to do "One year bucket lists" without just saying what you have planned for the year, but I'll throw in some things I plan on doing and a few that I'd like to do but doubt I will:

1) Graduate college

2) Move to DC

3) Attend 4 Skins home games and one away game

4) Join a rec league for something like kickball or ping pong

5) Find a "real job" (With "benefits" and "sick days")

6) Get in a potentially serious relationship

7) Start a real savings account (Not one that I'm just going to raid for a vacation)

8) Find some social activity that I enjoy other than going to bars

9) Get a "fake job" (bartending in DC)

its not quite that easy lol. i plan on doing it soon, but have to be healthy, not injured other places, and come up with the cash for it. if i put it off longer, i may be able to get the medical insurance to cover it, but right now its considered pre-existing. the injury occurred 3 years ago in an auto accident and i had no medical insurance at the time. if i can go long enough without the pain meds or seeing a dr about it, it becomes a new issue when i go back to the dr. hope that makes sense as i am a bit loopy right now from my ankle injury

These all go together if you move to DC.... Kickball leagues around here are great! and Everyone goes to the bars after games to get hammered. Trust me, Ive been on a kickball, flag football, and baseball league and now im on a bowling league, its legit!

Yeah... I'm graduating with a degree in Economics with 4 years of bartending experience... I kinda HAVE to move to DC...

Specifically I'd like a job with the Bureau of Labor Statistics or the Census Bureau...

good thing you mentioned that.... Bureau of Labor Statistics is on a hiring craze and is deemed one of the top/most growing jobs in 2012

id also recommend moving close to DC, not necessarily in to DC

Well coming from Greensboro... EVERYTHING north of Richmond is DC... lol

Yeah BLS has been my dream since before I learned people actually got paid to do the Occupational Outlook Handbook...

I like the list, but as a guy a little older than you, that just started my professional career over 3 years ago and moved to DC at the same time. My personal advise would be wait on #6 until at least 2013 or just let it happen. There are so many amazing and different women in DC that I wouldn't stop at the first one I met.

Yep, getting healthier is on my list. Sorry about the "C", let's hope you stay in remission. May all go well with your ankle, and the Skins have a winning season next year. HTTR.

I'm going to miss everyone that's posted in this thread. :(

How do you all know you'll be kicking the bucket in 2012? ;)

You never fail to either make me crack up or think really hard about something!!!

Dewey Beach. I have been to Ocean City and Myrtle Beach plenty, but never Dewey.

Deadlift over 500lbs.

good call, I plan on going to Dewey one of these days as well. Places are expensive there but I heard its a blast

Just don't go to Rehobeth, you'll be dead lifting your socks.

I plan on going to Texas and telling them all how small it is there.

Take a legit vacation. That's about it :)

Good call, ren. I can't remember my last one of those.

I have two legitimate answers to this thread:

1) Lose that last 10 or 15 lbs, get to 185 or 190, and stay there. (Whichever feels stronger/healthier.)

2) STOP MAKING EXCUSES. For anything. This is my life. Time to own it. Period.
