busigator96
It's great to see that his offense is starting to really click. Living in Gainesville I really miss the XHBC and wish him the best of success up there. God bless Direct TV!
TD_washingtonredskins
I would say a B. In terms of explosiveness it's great but we need to get more TDs out of it. We seem to bog down around the 30 a lot. I don't know if that's playcalling or execution or what...but I think his offense can definitely work in the NFL. J33Edwards
correct the penalties and the offense is deadly...thats the only thing holding the team back from putting up alot of points. Drives seem to die because of penalties not because of broken plays or bad play calling.
Awesome
Spurrier the Offensive Tactician - A Spurrier the Head Football Coach - D To preach all week about cutting penalties, to have that as your number 1 key to success, and then go out and have your team break a record for the number of penalties is VERY DISHEARTENING and, to me, speaks volumes about Spurrier's inability to get his team motivated and focused come game day. SkinsThug
His record in the NFL is 9-10 now. That's about right.
TD_washingtonredskins
His record in the NFL is 9-10 now. Which is probably 4 or 5 games better than a lot of coaches after their first 19 games. He's going to be a good one.
Kornheiser
C I believed the offense would be a problem because of all the new parts (4 of 6 new WRs, 4 RB w/year or less, QB w/less than a year of play, 4 new OGs). The penalties, the blown audibles, the missed blocking assignments & sacks pretty much bear this out, though we do have some great highlights. But everythings pretty much gone as I expected. I'm watching to see how long it takes for them to fine tune out all the glitches. If it's early, we got a play off run in us, if it takes a while it will be close. The offense has had some nice games, but if we were in the play-offs we would be a first round exit right now. Ramsey & Coles are ahead of their already ahead-of-schedule, though which bodes well for the 'early tune-up'
jbooma
I guess being #1 in the NFL answers that
bubba9497
B+ shows steady improvement, barring injuries, could be one the best by seasons end.
Mad Mike
A A+ if and when we can cut down the number of penalties. Really people. For a little perspective... If I had said we would have the #1 offense for yardage (11 in points scored), the #1 QB and WR, and the #7 rushing attack by week three, before this season started, you would have said I was on crack.
Potato Sack
I want to give the offense a B+. Simply, because of the way we've come back in these last 2 games. However, discipline is crucial to a team and it's success. So, unfotunately, I have to give them a C.
Thinking Skins
Deadliness alone gives them an A-. I mean do you all realize that we've come back from being down 35 points in the last two games. Thats a deadly offense. And this week we didnt even have the help of a defensive turnover. I'd say this is a deadly offense.
bobby1
You cannot blame the penaltys on Steve Spurrier he has a young team and a whole bucnh of new people. I mean people like Mccants and Trotter it them making the tounts not Spurrier. I really dont know why you people think its Spurrier this has been a problem for the Redskins years before Steve even came here.
Kornheiser
I'd say coming back from 16+ point 3 times is a proverbial "mixed bag". Love the yardage ratings & all but I'm sure a sack rating, penalty rating bring us closer to our true average. That's what's bring down our average. Iron those out and we could take a big leap & quick. BOBBY1 I'm with you - most of the break downs are not coaching, 'Spurrier's system' works. Most of the break downs were penalties/execution much of which can be attributed to all the new players & could weed themselves out in time. Skins26
Would you people get off of Spurrier. He preached all week about getting rid of penalties. THATS ALL THE HEAD COACH CAN DO! Its not his fault. When are you people gonna start to blame some of this on the players! The coaches did all they could, they cant play for them. Or you could try blaming the real problem, THE OFFICIALS
Skins26
That said, I give the offense an A- Not quite perfect yet with the audibles. Ramsey usually screws them up. If we get up to the line faster then itd be fine. But his ways of getting people open is wonderful. Also i love the nifty little run plays he has, like the counter but the ball was just flipped out to Trung, that was a good play. He's got some nice running plays. And of course the passing plays are money.
NoCalMike
I'd give the offense a steady B...... Gameplanning A: The plans seem to be great. Spurrier knows how to attack every kind of defense. The game against the Falcons should have provided a nice warmup for New England Execution B Has looked good, but still there have been too many times where recievers run the wrong routes resulting in making it look like Ramsey is throwing a bad pass, luckily those passes haven't resulted in INTs Halftime adjustments A-A-A-A-A~! This, so far I'd say is the strongest thing about our offense right now. Spurrier and Co. have adjusted well to every defense thrown at them, and it is going to be THAT MUCH better in the second half of the season when Ramsey has seen every type of defense, check, look, cheat, etc.... Chemistry C Ramsey-to-"place reciever here" has been great, but the O-line's chemistry thus far has been horrible. For the names we have on the line, they should be performing a lot better. Look for this to improve, as the talent is there. All the false starts and othe penalties are inexcusable as well..(maybe this should have gone under execution) So Overall I give a steady B, and with a little extra credit this week against the Patriots, namely cutting down on penalties, I could push the overall grade to an A-

Tom [Giants fan]
Well, I think it deserves a good grade. I'd give it a B+ or an A-. I wouldn't count the penalties against Spurrier when asking to give his offense a grade. If you are grading just the system, it works albeit a little revised. I think the offense gets a good grade but as was mentioned, his overall grade as a headcoach may be a bit lower. But this is only his second year. The Giants didn't make the playoffs until Parcells' third year. Who is now as we all know with the Cowboys. :puke:  :puke::doh: :puke::doh: :puke::doh: :puke:

NavyDave
I prefer grading at the halfway mark but I'll say a B+ Once the players cut out the mental mistakes and develop a team concept its an A easily.

Correct that and we will be awesome. Hell, with all those penalties, we still have the #1 offence in the league. Amazing.
