sjinhan
I think we have all realized at this point that at some point we will have to "severely" deal with North Korea. They have been given every chance to back off and they keep pushing. Even China has started to fade to the US side by backing our resolution given to the U.N. N Korea responded with China betrayed us so we will have to deal with them too. N Korea has no friends left. Perhaps its time we truly send them a message since they are so intent on sending us one. What is the definition of "severely" dealing with North Korea? If you are talking war, invasion, or any other nonsense like that then you are definitely not seeing the big picture. War in the region would not only be devestating for the people in the region (China/Korea/Japan) but it will have widespread repercussions to the world economy. Only way to deal with North Korea is to find a way to get the North Koreans to develope their economy so that they will less dependent on the military/arms business. There is a point where you have to say its a lost cause. N korea laid down threats to China and the US. Enough is enough. We've been trying to get that country to change forever. Quite simply they are power hungry. A country like that which has its emotions swing every second shouldn't have WMDs. Not to mention they know exactly what they are doing. They keep pushing and getting more confidence they can do whatever they want. If they want to throw down cards I say we do too. All it takes is one pod opening in the western US and the country is gone. It would be best for them to remember that. Also sometimes you have to make sacrifices. A hit to the world economy is worth it if multiple countries are in danger. Human lives>Money Edited January 24, 2013 by RichmondRedskin88

Human lives>Money you say that "Human live > Money" yet you are basically ignoring the amount of lives that will be lost not only in North Korea but definitely in South Korea and also possibly in Japan. I said this in number of threads previously and I will say it again... Invading countries in areas like Iraq and Afganistan is must more different than invading North Korea due it is proximity to major city centres. Invading countries in areas like Iraq and Afganistan is must more different than invading North Korea due it is proximity to major city centres. so you propose we sit back and take these threats? And when N Korea launches a missile right into one of our major cities (DC,New York, Philly, etc) what are you gonna say? We aren't making crap up here. N Korea laid it down right on the table what they are doing and what it's all about. At that point you are asking for war or worse. I'm tired of people thinkign that you can just change N Korea by changing their economy. They don't care. They want to be all powerful. This isn't about sustaining their economy. They simply want to strike fear into the hearts of countries around the world with threats of WMDs. They need to know the world isn't gonna stand for it. It's like a wimpy dog trying to bark at the big dog except the little dog is now trying to get some steroids so it can take on the big one. Let that little dog get those steroids. See how well it turns out for the big dog. Edited January 24, 2013 by RichmondRedskin88

The reclusive North has this week declared a boycott of all dialogue aimed at ending its nuclear program and vowed to conduct more rocket and nuclear tests after the U.N. Security Council censured it for a December long-range missile launch. On Thursday, Washington unveiled more of its own economic restrictions following Pyongyang's rocket launch last month. Friday brought a third straight day of fiery rhetoric from the isolated communist state, this time directed against South Korea. "'Sanctions' mean a war and a declaration of war against us," the North said.

Korea may have killed 10,000 people last yearPYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA (BNO NEWS) — Thousands of people may have died as a result of severe food shortages in North Korea last year, forcing some people to resort to cannibalism, according to a Japanese news agency which estimates the death toll could be as high as 10,000. Asia Press, which is based in Japan but secretly works with a group of citizen journalists inside North Korea, said dozens of interviews and reports have led the agency to conclude that “considerable numbers of people” died last year as a result of severe food shortages in North Korea’s North and South Hwanghae provinces. Lombardi's_kid_brother
So in 50 words or less, why does North Korea want to bomb us? Because of sanctions?I don't want a catastrophic war. I don't think North Korea wants to necessarily bomb anyone. What they keep doing is adding numbers to the list of "people that will die within 24 hours of any kind of military action against North Korea." The US could probably annihilate the North Korean army within a week. The question is how many tens of millions of South Koreans will die before that war is completed. The nuclear program gives them the option of taking a few million Japanese with them and - maybe someday - a few Predictos.
S.T.real,lights,out
http://news.yahoo.com/north-koreans-reportedly-turn-cannibalism-due-hidden-famine-122128957.html North Koreans Reportedly Turn to Cannibalism Due to 'Hidden Famine' News out of North Korean in notorious unreliable, but food shortages in the country have gotten so bad and people so desperate that there are now reports of men murdering their own children for food. These startling reports were compiled by independent reporters commissioned by Asia Press, a independent press agency focusing on Asia, and were published by the Sunday Times. And here's one of the most disturbing thing you'll read this morning: The source said: "While his wife was away on business he killed his eldest daughter and, because his son saw what he had done, he killed his son as well. When the wife came home, he offered her food, saying: 'We have meat.' "But his wife, suspicious, notified the Ministry of Public Security, which led to the discovery of part of their children's bodies under the eaves." And another from Gu Gwang-ho, one of the Asia Press's citizen journalists said: "There was an incident when a man was arrested for digging up the grave of his grandchild and eating the remains." The big question here is whether this is all true or new urban legends. Considering this is North Korea and taking into account the country's propensity to keep secrets and publish propaganda pieces—we'll likely never get real confirmation from their end. But Asia Press has worked with citizen reporters in the famine-struck regions of North and South Hwanghae for the past year, and The Independent considers their reports credible. China
North Korea video shows 'US city' hit by missiles NORTH Korea has posted a video on YouTube depicting a US city resembling New York engulfed in flames after an apparent missile attack. The video was uploaded by the North's official website, Uriminzokkiri, which distributes news and propaganda from the state media. The video is shot as a dream sequence, with a young man seeing himself on board a North Korean space shuttle launched into orbit by the same type of rocket Pyongyang successfully tested in December. As the shuttle circles the globe - to the tune of We Are the World - the video zooms in on countries below, including a reunified Korea. The focus then switches to a city - shrouded in the US flag - under apparent missile attack, with its skyscrapers either on fire or in ruins. "Somewhere in the United States, black clouds of smoke are billowing," reads a caption. "It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze." http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UUknqqNd3-joIjWzf1Jn4oVQ&feature=player_embedded&v=HKWJSKYBDXE Click on the link for the full article
