Reaganaut
The 12th man is alive and well at FedEx Field. I'd have to put the fourth quarter in the RFK playoff game range. I had a migrane headache and had to hold my head in between yelling sprees. It's too bad it didn't hurt the Gimps in overtime, but I think we have a competitive team and an unbelievable crowd now. This is all I ask from the Skins to contend for the division each year. Lots of negatives from the game, but these are things the team should be able to sort out. I saw only a sprinkling of blue jerseys in the crowd. Redskins fans have FINALLY shown up for the games. Wooo-hooooooooooooooo!!!
Posse81
Yeah, the crowd was GREAT last night. I thought it got louder than the Jets game. Shame on the people that left early.
TD_washingtonredskins
Reaganaut, you hit on something that has been lost in the sad glow of this past game.... All we can really ask is that our guys are competitive and in contention in December. Some years they will make the playoffs, and some they won't. But if this keeps up, how cool will it be for us to have a team that is in the hunt year in and year out??

Man it was loud down there, it was like night and day from the top of the stadium. I was very impressed and yes my throat still hurts
Skins26
Me and my friends stayed the whole time. Painted chest and all......we tried to keep our section pumped throughout the whole game. It was hard to keep everyone together. But we did it. And helped our team emerge. In the fourth the problem actually was with quieting it down for the offense instead of getting it loud. You people who watched, it was even that loud during TV Timeouts it was awesome!!! I wish i had season tickets and didnt just get lucky getting tickets to that one game. Tom [Giants fan]
I was trying to listen to Suzy Kolber's sideline report and couldn't hear her on the T.V. because of the crowd noise. And I love hearing her talk!!!!! B@stards!!!
Reaganaut
we tried to keep our section pumped throughout the whole game. It was hard to keep everyone together. But we did it. There is a psychology to getting others to get up and cheer. We generally start a ten second howl going during the offensive huddle. People get their cue off of this and start roaring right when the offense gets up to the line. It doesn't always work, but this time people were really on their toes. I paid the price with an incredibly bad migrane that lasted until this morning, but it was worth it to try and help the team. I saw many more Skins fans there the past two games. NoCalMike
Ye I was watching the game at a sportsbar and you could definately tell a difference between the crowd this game as opposed to any game last season. Maybe the brunt of the Skins fan base(attending games) is starting to believe.
Brave
People will stand up and cheer when they have a reason to. Last night it was awfully tough to keep the crowd in it for long periods because of all the penalties. And TV timeouts. The crowd would get going and then we would pause. Then get going .... and stop. it was pretty good in that 4th quarter DESPITE all this. And I was shocked at how many people left, starting with about 9 minutes left. We were only down 2 scores ... but they had no faith I guess. Those of us who stayed to the end were rewarded with an exciting finish, and almost a spectacular comeback win. 70Chip
Listen, I have to fess up. I left early. I will accept whatever punishment you all feel is appropriate. I spent an hour and a half in the lot after the Jets game before I could get out, so I took off with 5-odd minutes left when the Skins were flagged and the Giants were on our 40 and driving. That was the last straw after all the earlier penalties. I'll never do it again in non-blowout conditions -- the team now clearly has proven quick strike capability. National Defense
hope you learned your lesson 70chip---this team is never out of it. no room for the fickle on this bandwagon. it was the loudest i have heard it since the tampa game a few years back and it was louder than the detroit playoff game. 4th quarter rocked--my throat is still shot. RySkins
There will soon come a time when fans will never leave a game early when Patrick Ramsey is on the field. That was the loudest a Redskin crowd has been since probably 1991. Hopefully my comrades will bring the same intensity next week.
skinsfan44
I still can't talk after all the yelling I did. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER leave early. I don't care how long it takes to get out of the stadium parking lot (sorry 70Chip). I couldn't beleave it when I saw people leave in the 4th. Despite all the penaltes, we still had a shot at winning this game, (and should have won it) so the Skins are never out of it. Yesterday remined me of the "good ol' days of RFK". It got good and loud there at Fed-Ex. Good to hear y'all watching on TV could hear us.

ross3909
I always wondered why pay all the money and fight all the traffic to come to the game and then arrive late and leave early? I never got that. My friends and I arrive a couple of hours early and BBQ in the lot. Mosey on up to the stadium at about 45 minutes out and then after the game, win or loose make our way out the cars and set up the grill again for another hour or so. This makes getting to the game and leaving a much more happy experience and you cannot believe all the fun stuff you see in the parking lot after a good game! It is sometimes almost as fun as the game itself. So come on fickle fans...relax and make a day of it.
CounterTre
Here's a little different perspective on leaving a bit early...win or lose. I drove 500 miles each way last year for every home game by myself. For all but the 4 o'clock games I left immediately following the game to make the drive back and lemme tell ya after losses like the the one's we experienced last year sitting in traffic for an extra hour on top of a 7-8 hour car ride couldn't possibly suck worse. I was there for the entire Giants game this Sunday but lemme tell ya I left SEVERAL games early last season (2 min left in the game I'd sprint to my car) and don't feel the slightest bit bad, fickle or any less hardcore than anyone else. When I make that long road trip and the team craps the bed looking they don't care(frequently the last 3 years), I'm more miffed and actually feel ripped off to a degree. Come on fellas tighten up and play with a purpose you've got some hardcore fans out here!!! Granted most folks aren't faced with that kind of road trip afterwards but I thought you might appreciate a slightly different view. If I was local, wild horses couldn't drag me from my seat before the game clock expires.
ross3909
I feel your pain CounterTre. The long commute sucks. I dont know if waiting till the traffic clears out a little to start your journey would help or not. For us we have tried both fighting the traffic and waiting and believe it or not we usually get home around the same time either way. As long as you are makin some noise for the good guys while you are there that is all any fan can ask.
gridironmike
My "commute" is about a six hour drive home. I have stayed to the end of every game except the Marty debacle versus the Chiefs a couple of years ago. That is the most frustrated I have ever been attending a game, and my dad left before I did. SkinsLover
CounterTre - WOW 7-8 hours!! That is an extremely long day. how do you manage to get to work the next day on some of the later games... Or like the Late-late games 8:30-9pm...You don't get home until 6-7 in the morning????Yeeesh. That is devotion. I drive what I thought was a long commute..(until I read this!!) a little over three hours...I got the tickets last year, and now this year the drive seems so easy & quick for me. But I am absolutely beat the next day. As for the fans...I was one of the stay-til-the-bitter-end fans. I too had the same experience of migraine, I really thought I was going to blow a vein in my head from the yelling!!! It was really a great game, would have been even greater if we pulled it out...But I think it sounds like we have had the most emotional & exciting games of any team this year...For me it started at the Ravens preseason...then you have the first game on National TV, which I normally have a sick stomach all day long due to our crappy history on Prime time night games...win that one with a kick from the other teams previous kicker with seconds on the clock..Last week with that Atlanta game coming all the way back to tie it & win it.. now this one...The first three games I had more emotion and soar throats than the whole last season put together!!!! gbear
Did anyone else hear Lavar on 980 yesterday on his weekly talk with Coach Thompson? That asked what happened in overtime. They pointed out that the D didn't seem real set on a few of the plays and asked him what went on. HE said the Giants started moving to the LOS quicker than they had all game. By the time the D got their signals in, they didn't have time to relay them to the DL. Evidently, the croud was so looud the DL couldn't hear their plays. Lavar said they have hand signals for the back 7, but they are going to have to work on signals for the DL. Anyone else ever hear of the D being at a disadvantage from croud noise? Lavar did say it should have helped the D, they just weren't ready for how fast teh Giants came to the line of scrimage.
