TimmySmith
Why not. The Skins have a solid chance to get 2, 1,000 yard receivers, and a way outside chance at a 1,000 yard rusher. Receiving Fred Davis 697 yards. Needs 61 a game from here on out. I would put him 80% chance of doing it. Jabar Gaffney 665 yards. Needs 67 per game from here on out. I give him 50-50. Rushing Roy Helu 356 yards. Must get 129 a game. Now before you dismiss. Back in 2006 Ladell Betts rushed for 666 yards over his last 5 games (133 a game) so the precedent is there. SkinsCrushCowboys
I think Gafney has the best shot as he an Rex appear to have developed some chemistry....Davis may get close. Helu, who I really like, would be the biggest longshot in my book. Getting 700-800 total yards this year in his limited role would be great and a nice building block for next year. Burgold
If Helu gets a thousand yards, we'd be on the cusp of winning a playoff spot. 9-7 might get one in this year. Imagine how upset Extremeskins would be if the Redskins made the playoffs or if its players were excelling!

I don't see Helu getting 1k unless the Redskins emerge as a playoff team suddenly. Gaffney is going to get more yards just based on position I think and it appears that both He and Davis are going to be close by the end.
DogofWar1
Davis is probably closest, he's the clear #1 TE option, and we love to dump to him. Gaffney's odds dropped a bit with Moss' return. He's still got a decent shot, but while before Moss returned he was almost a lock for 1000 yards, now he has to compete with Moss, as well as with the other young guys. Still, he could certainly do it. Helu is a real long shot. If Shanny commits to him, and he turns out to be a real monster, it could happen, but the biggest impediment might be Shanahan. He's almost certainly going to get Royster similar handoff numbers to what Helu had early year, so Helu might only see 20 or handoffs a game tops. That, of course, means he would have to average around 7 yards a handoff to make 133 a game, and that's asking a bit much. 1000 all purpose yards though, that I could see. Helu has been in the passing game quite a bit, and is almost at 600 yards overall. As the starting back, I could easily see him getting 100 all purpose yards a game. Hmmmm. It might be time to see if Helu is available in my fantasy league... Edit: Nope, not available in any of my 3 leagues. Then again, I've wheeled and dealt and gotten 3 top 15 RBs in all my leagues, so I can't complain.
Forehead
Is it just me, or is 1,000 yards not an impressive statistic anymore, keeping in mind 16 game seasons and a more wide-open game. I think 1,200 would be a better benchmark, and no one on our team is hitting that. I'd also up the "3,000 yards passing" line for QB's to around 3,600. IMO 4,000 is the new 3,000 for QBs.
Warhead36
With Moss back, we won't have any 1000 yard receivers. And 0 chance Helu gets 1000 yards. Betts in 06 was partly fluke, partly playing behind a damn good OL(people forget our OL from 05-middle of 08 was one of the best in the league). superozman
1,000 yards is a 62.5/game clip. Not really thrilling. Especially in today's pass happy league. A nice round number, that's about it. Now the 1,500 yard season Moss and Portis went for is much more of a landmark, and really thrilling to pay attention to. And Burgold - I'll take what your drinking!
