its the Monty Python evil bunny from hell defense.

My respect for Daryl Johnston went up (it was not high to start with) when he made the Monty Python reference. Have to love a guy who can drop a reference to the Killer Bunny from Holy Grail ......

Maybe it was the Predator defense as well .......

Ha! It's got big pointy fangs! Love that scene. Cannot argue with most of the defensive calls yesterday, which we had brought more pressure on a few plays but I cannot complain about 4 sacks.

Oh, props to Moose. I was at the game so didn't know he made that reference. Will certainly listen for it on the NFL Network replay.

I wouldn't mind seeing Haslett canned and have this guy take over at D-coordinator for him. He's done a great job with the LBs this year.

Oh ... and yeah, I saw and loved the "fang" call from the sidelines.

Haslett has done a pretty good job this year IMO. I hated that 3rd and 21 call in Dallas but setting that aside the defense has made big strides this year.

We need continuity and some paitence IMO.

Actually it was a bit annoying that Moose kept harping on it (maybe because Moose annoys me, period)... But it seems like he stayed talking about it as a ways to clown him.. Hence "What ever that is, i hope it works...ha,ha,ha,ha" man STFU!

I think we just need playmakers in the secondary. DHall and Landry isn't getting it done. And so far OJ has been average...

And we still need to replace some players that don't belong in the 3-4 defense. We've made great strides upgrading from last year to this year as far as bringing in the right personnel to run the 3-4. It takes time, but some fans are just too impatient. If they can't see that we've gone from the 31st worst defense to the top 10, I don't know what to tell them. Yes, we can still improve, but I think as a whole, we are in better shape this year.

I'm not too sure that many players need to be replaced. Defensive line depth could be addressed, but that will be seen automatically when Jenkins come back. An ILB was pretty high on my personal list but Perry Riley seems to be filling that need (fingers crossed). Basically there is a need for some defensive backs but that need doesn't come from the 3-4 switch, it comes from injuries and perhaps just having undesirable players. As it stands now, I'm pretty happy with the progress of the front seven, especially if Riley continues to impress (approx. 2.8 opponents' yards per carry since he's been starting).

Very impressed with the LB corps right now too. Riley is hitting the runner head on at speed and it makes a real difference. I'm a lot more chilled about NT now that Riley is aggressively filling holes (the innuendo on this site :ols: ). Hats off to the coaches.

That's why I said "some". Mostly its depth at NT, ILB and CB like you said.

I'm probably Haslett's biggest critic here. Seriously.

And if he were to be canned, I'd want Spanos to take over.

That said, even I have to say we can't just dump Haslett quite yet. At the very least, we have continuity. And while the offense builds, the defense may get better. Can't get behind canning him, even though I think he was a bad hire in the first place. But he's here now. He deserves time.

I completely agree with you. This team is really in a "rebuilding" process and we as fans need to be patient. I think fans are sometimes over eager to can someone for a bad day. If you have a bad day at work, should you be immediately fired? Nobody is perfect, but the coaches are doing a good job rebuilding on the mess left by Vinny and Dan.
