SkinsHokieFan
Hey, I got emotionally invested in this game also when it looked like we had a chance to win it. The sugar rush of winning today would have been fun. Cowboy fans quiet, the Redskins at 4-5, a win over those bums. But, and you'll realize this in April, its better this way today. Getting that number 2 overall pick is the most important thing this franchise can do. The team is playing hard, not giving up, keeps fighting. Right now the best is not good enough because of a lack of talent. We need a high draft pick. We need a franchise changer. Winning today may have cost us that HTTR

RWJ
Never waiverd. I hoped that we would lose because we weren't going to make the playoffs this year after the Bills game. With the Browns and Phins winning, our chances just got better. We need the high draft picks to help us for next year.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Is it so wrong I had a clenched fist when Gano missed the OT FG? REAL proud of my team's effort today. REAL happy we came up short. As SHF alluded to, feel free to jump all over me. But y'all will be thankful come next April. Anyone watching the top 4 guys yesterday would know that. Hail. HogNose
It's too early for a thread like this..... The Dallas losses always sting. I would rather be 4-

U C S D SkinsFan
Losing out....you put that **** away when we play the Cowboys. If you endorse losing any game to the Cowboys..it's sad.

dnpmakkah
Vikings and Panthers lost today....we needed to lose to keep pace. Must get that #2 pick.
charlton
Maybe Shanahan was thinking the same thing. Wasn't it interesting that he called the timeout when the clock was about to expire right before Romo sits to pee tried to call timeout on the FG in OT. If Shanahan didn't do that, there would have been a penalty on the play making the attempt more difficult.
Warhead36
I'm not upset at all. I saw exactly what I wanted to see. A tough, hard fought, entertaining game that we lost to help our draft position. Wins don't mean anything right now. Come April when Barkley/Griffin/Jones is hoisting a Redskins jersey we'll be glad we took this loss.
blueskin
I see the logic of your post, but I still would've rather had the win. I hate the ****ing Cowboys. And even if we get the #2, its no gimme that we draft the right guy. Hell, Luck/Griffin/Barkley may even be ginormous busts, you just don't know. I hate having to rely on draft picks for hope, because they fail so often. For every Manning, there are 5-6 Ryan Leafs.
.Guy.
Totally agreed. While I would have celebrated like a mad man had Gano made the FG, it's way better in the long term he missed it. I am so sick of being mediocre... we need to SUCK big time to get that coveted top 3 draft pick.

But an L will help make sure we aren't playing for draft picks before Thanksgiving again How? We couldn't have made the postseason before this game so how would you feel bitter? We need to lose the rest of our games to even consider ourselves in position to have the 2nd or 3rd highest draft picks. Shanny has played this out well!!!! JoeSkins
Vikings and Panthers lost today....we needed to lose to keep pace. Must get that #2 pick. The Dolphins, a team which needs a quarterback, won today. That's good news. This whole draft pick consolation thing is starting to get old, however. -mando-
I want to be able to draft a franchise QB as much as anyone, but being satisfied with losses and hoping to throw/lose more games in order to do so is pathetic
