GTA V ( 9/17/2013 ) - Character trailers out

That wasn't a bad breakdown. I didn't get the Ray Liotta vibe though the first go-round. I'd have to see it again for that. I find a hard time believeing that all of the characters from the previous games will return in a Lost/Classic Quinton Tarantino kind of way though. Maybe Tommy Vercetti and CJ. That would actually be a great idea. Don't know why they tried to debate whether or not all of San Andreas would be in the game, considering that, well, it's a next gen game engine, and they already showed in the vid what look to be parts of Northern California.

I guess we'll have to chew on this for awhile. It probably won't be till February/March at the earliest until the next trailer is released.

I remember coming across an article on the wanted level system, as well as a few other nuances about a month or so ago. Seems as if your ability to speed will be limited this time around, and I think the Army/FBI is coming back. There was also something else that was retarded about the wanted system that I forgot about. Seems like there may still be that element of realism (in certain areas) that, even after GTA IV, they aren't willing to back down from. I think the old days of the complete and utter mayhem style of gameplay are long gone. Hopefully they at least bring it in the weapons department this time around.

It won't suprise me if you have to go to the DMV and wait two hours before you can get a driver's license and you have to periodically go to a Jiffy Lube and get your oil changed.

That would suck. They better make cheats available to get around all of that crap.

I think this is the article

There is already a buttload of rumors and info regarding the game floating around out there. The most reliable rumor is the size of the game. GTA V will once again take gamers to Los Santos, but this time they can expect an even larger sandbox to play in. Dan Houser, the President of creativity at Rockstar Games, confirmed the enormous map size in a Game Informer interview from January. The size of the new map is up for debate, with some sites predicting it will be 1.5 times larger and others, like IGN, predicting that the map will be FIVE times larger and, in classic GTA fashion, split into three maps.

Along with map size, a story summary is also making the rounds in the "credible rumor" scene. The protagonist's name will be Albert De Silva a.k.a. the "rich guy" in the game trailer.

And the portion of the article that discusses the wanted level

Of course, what's a GTA game without wanted level chases? Some details regarding the new wanted level system in GTA V have come out and it looks like Rockstar is upping the ante when it comes to unpredictable, difficult gameplay. Police will do more than just chase you on foot or in vehicles. Riot shields and flash bang grenades are a part of the 5-0's arsenal. There will be radio warnings broadcast about you, your appearance and your location when you reach a 4-star wanted level. The following wanted level breakdown was obtained by IGN:

1 star - police follow you on foot and try to make an arrest. No sirens, no car chases (unless you are speeding).

2 star - police will still attempt to make an arrest. If a weapon is drawn then the police will begin opening fire. Police will use stun guns if a weapon is not drawn.

3 star - Chases begin and the police don't care how they stop you, they just want to do it.

4 star - road traps, radio stations and much more hostile police. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 24 in-game hours for someone matching your description.

5 star - shoot to kill, arrest only if it's made very possible. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 48 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Few missions become unavailable if you are wanted.

6 star - military vehicles come after you. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 72 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Some missions become unavailable if you are wanted.

There will be no end to the rumor mill for GTA V until its official release date, which best guesses put at May of 2013

Good thing it's all rumors at this point. They're most likely leaking a few aspects of the game to gauge fan reaction. Maybe they can fix a few things before the release date

This is absolutely amazing. You can finish a mission with one character, switch over to another, and it'll be like a completely new world. I am very excited about this game right now.

Missions will also be dynamic, as in Red Dead Redemption, if you played that. It sounds kind of cool.

The GTA World will also be the largest ever attempted by a GTA game. This is just for assessment purposes, it's not a real map.

It's bigger than RDR land, GTA IV, and GTA San Andreas' map. That is going to be one huge play area.
