GTA V ( 9/17/2013 ) - Character trailers out

I beat SA twice but haven't finished Vice City, played the first few missions and got bored. Really haven't gotten into the game.

The opposite for me. Finished Vice City, ran out of gas with SA.

The ending/last mission is one of the greatest videogame endings of all time.

Agreed, at least with Vice City.

Yeah I was talking about Vice City. SA was kind of all over the place. IMO, the ending in San Andreas should've just been the ending for Los Santos. Didn't like how the original plot kind of got put on the backburner throughout the rest of the game. They should've just killed it there, and brought out a new plotline with a new villain. I guess they had no choice though.

The trailer really didn't say much to me other than that they were in San Andreas again. Loved GTA: SA, but that probably won't have much bearing on how good this game is since the city is gonna be completely revamped and the gameplay and story will be different. I hope it's as good as San Andreas was.

Yeah, but that was some really good eyecandy, and it looks like you'll be able to play a few rounds of golf as well (maybe). I'm curious about the weapons inventory though, along with the star ranking system (hopefully the Army, S.W.A.T. return)

Looks pretty good. It seems as if Saints Row 3 is really stepping it up so GTA 5 needs to be mind blowing when it comes out. I would really like some more customization options. 4 really left me hanging in that respect. Actually 5 just needs to be better than 4 in every aspect.

Need more weapons

Need more badass land/sea/air vehicles

Need more Third World Chaos

Need more humor

Need more **** to do (non storyline side missions/rampages/hidden packages)

Need less non-repetitive missions, and overall non-repetitiveness in general .

Size of the game/realism/graphics are of no concern to me this time around. GTA IV whored everyone off of that.

I think they will give a whole lot more of everything compared to San Andreas. That was the first one for the new consoles, and I remeber the complaints about not as much flying, no jet pack, a smaller map and just less content in general. The only thing that could derail that is the success they have had with add- on games like the ballad of gay tony and chinatown wars, but even then, I suspect the base game will at least have a bigger map, more weapons/cars/air & sea vehicles ( I really want the jet pack back!)

and more stuff in general, and they will save missions and other games for DLC.

Rockstar makes a lot of moeny by selling the games, but they make an obscene amount of money-at least profit margin wise- with DLC.

we need an update on the thread title when a release date is announced, I'll be checking here for any updates instead of surfing those sketchy video game sites.

Saints Row 3 looks like it's going to be great.

Can't say enough about Saints Row 2. That game beat GTA on every level except graphics. They were a tad cheesy in SR 2, but as far as missions/side missions/things to do, Saints Row 2 beat GTA 4 up & down with a big ugly stick.

On top of that, you could spend hours (if you really wanted to) shooting cops & civilians without ever dying in SR 2. GTA 4, once you popped that first shot & got 1 star, if you weren't in a car & driving for your life, you were pretty much gauranteed to die within minutes. I hated that.

That being said, I can't wait for Saints Row 3.

I don't understand why they don't go with a 1920's Al Capone theme. Imagine having to do something with bootlegging and whatnot :)

The Godfather was a great game & there is a GTA style game called Mafia that sucked. If RockStar could make something that involved mafia style living, that would be awesome.

Haven't had the chance to play it much, but Red Dead Redemption was an incredible setup & great game as well & that's a western. So, I don't doubt they could pull off a great mafia style game, as long as they did it right.

you need to get on that Red Dead Redemption. It was incredible. Also, the Undead Nightmare DLC was surprisingly great, too.
