Yahoo News--(via blog "The Lookout") : Ad for gun training bars Muslims and Obama voters

Now as far as I'm concerned (barring potential legal matters) this guy is entitled to take this position, I just think it's funny as well as another example of idiocy common to his demographic. :)

And I'm resisting indicting Texas :pfft: as a part of that, as there are just too many fine folk there even if it is the home of the Cowpies and endless herds of morons. It isn't as bad as Arizona, after all. :ols:

"We will attempt to teach you all the necessary information you need to obtain your [Concealed Handgun License]," the ad says. Then towards the end, it adds: "If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law."

And then: "If you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you the class with no shame; I am Crockett Keller, thank you, and God bless America."

The ad ran for six days on KHLB, Mason's local station. It's also been heard tens of thousands of times on Youtube.

Keller, 65, has said in media interviews that he just regards the message is just common sense. "The fact is, if you are a devout Muslim, then you cannot be a true American," he told local news station KVUE, while fielding calls congratulating him for his stance. "Why should I arm these people to kill me? That's suicide."

All non-Christians have to learn elsewhere. Maybe some of you can some over to my place. :ols:

If one truly feels no shame, there is no need to say 'with no shame.'

I think it's a position statement saying "As my kind of American, I reject the concept of shame." :pfft:

I think the bible is pretty clear on firearm training and who should be allowed to attend.

"Let he who is without sin, fire the first round."

It's so challenging for a redneck to be pretentious. A guy could throw his back out.

And see? I told ya'all Texas ain't all bad. :D

But the state of Texas may disagree. The Department of Public Safety said in a statement that certified instructors of handgun training are required to comply with all applicable state and federal laws, and added: "Conduct by an instructor that denied service to individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion would place that instructor's certification by the Department at risk of suspension or revocation." The department has said it has begun an investigation.

I dunno. At lest the comment about the Obama voters, I think is a funny way of getting people to pay attention to the ad.

I not only don't object, I can appreciate the guy's cleverness.

Now, the second part, to me, is getting closer to "I don't serve this here minority". I could see how there's a civil rights issue, here.

But the first part? Not only no problem, but some props.

We should commend this guy.

He basically put a sign out that showed the world he was a dumbass, thereby saving us the trouble of having to discover it on our own.

That's one of the greatest things about free speech. You have the right to make it abundantly clear that you're a complete and utter dip****.

(General "you," obviously.)

Does he have the right?

No he does not. He is licensed by the state of Texas as a certified instructor of handgun training. As such, he is required to comply with all applicable state and federal laws. The Texas Department of Public Safety said that "Conduct by an instructor that denied service to individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion would place that instructor's certification by the Department at risk of suspension or revocation." They have begun an investigation.

I applied it directly to me because I know that's what you meant. :paranoid: :D

In my defense, I like to at least occasionally occlude the clarity of my dip****ty nature. :pfft:
