'Kicking woes' baton has been passed

Cut Barker now. We'd be unlikely to sign a worse punter.

Barker is Hall's holder.

If you like the 54-yard field goals, it would be a good idea not to mess with Hall's head in mid-season.

Or would you like another trip down memory lane, say the 1999 playoffs?

You only notice the holder when they screw up. Let's not start noticing the holder again. :)

You ever heard a Spurrier interview when he talks about Hall? The way he gushes? Jose Cortez will do that to you. Clutch kicking is crucial.

There was so much Hall bashing from Jets fans about Hall (about his supposed inconsistency) and even on this board! He was a fantastic pickup and probably the most slept on of our acquisitions. Give Vinny and Danny some props. Spurrier does EVERY postgame interview!

Going to have to cut somebody to make room for a punter then. Barker, so far, hasn't been all that bad in 2 games. Against the Falcons he flat out kicked the hell out of it. With any hope, maybe he's consistent this season. Now that's where it could get interesting.

Rabble....I'd have said the same thing...last year.

But I don't feel Barker warrants criticism for his play so far. And until I see the 'old' Brian Barker, I'm inclined to cut him some slack.

Barker kicked that one from the Washington 30 to the Atlanta 32. It was returned for 26 yards. then Johnson threw the TD. Frankly, if Barker had put that ball on the Falcons 2 the only that would have changed was how far farris would have had to run. that was his shortes. His longest was 52, shortest that one for 38. Think he had a couple of 50 yarders there and put 2 inside the 20. Not bad.

Let's get the rest of the special teams straightened out

before we jump on Barker who is doing a good job.

Hall/Coles pickups have been the difference in the first

two games so let's give Danny the credit he deserves.

Now Spurrier-get on Stock and get some results-pronto.

Tarhog,

Well I didn't get the game out here in the mountains but followed it on the internet. Wasn't it in the fourth quarter he had a bad punt and on the next play Johnson threw a 42 yarder for a TD?

He hasn't out and out shanked one yet. And he's boomed several 50+ yarders. Here's the breakdown. The 15.1 yard return average we're surrendering is the main problem. I also like that Barker's put 3 inside the 20, several inside the 10 yd line. He may well implode, but again, right now, I've got to give him props.
