*** Guess Our 2011 Season Record Contest ***

Okay, time to let the world know how smart you really are.

Guess the season record correctly, win the tie breaks, and you will be awarded this wonderful Cliff Russell team-issued 70th Anniversary jersey pictured below. In addition, you get a beautiful never-worn before gold ES ball cap Die Hard found at the bottom of his closet and mailed to me. And we might even be able to give you a fancy CONTEST WINNER avatar of some sort.

Last year, the vast majority of ES members were overly optimistic. The most popular guess was 10-6, and the actual result was 6-10. Will we be any smarter this year?

If interested in playing, here is the procedure:

1) Copy and paste the opponents into your contest post.

2) Type "W" or "L" next to each opponent.

3) Type a number next to the W or L. For example, a "W 3" means we win by 3. "L 7" means we lose by 7.

4) Finally, vote in the poll above.

Note: An astute contestant might delay his poll voting until training camp and the pre-season is over to see what develops.

Your contest posts can be edited/changed as often as you like until the season starts. But your vote in the poll cannot be changed, so don't mess it up!

There will probably be more than one contestant correctly guessing the season record, so we'll have tie breaks.

  1. The first tie break goes to who most accurately guesses the number of specific games we won and lost. For example, say the season ends 8-8: if Joe guessed 8-8 but guessed specific games wrong twice, and Mary guessed 8-8 but guessed specific games perfectly, Mary would win the first tie break.
  2. The second tie break is points differential. All points will be added up. Loss points are negative. We will compare this with the actual points differential. Whoever is closest wins this second tie break.
  3. The third tie break is points for NFC East division games exclusively. We will compare this with the actual point differential between NFC East games exclusively. Whoever is closest wins this third tie break.
  4. The fourth tie break is points for NFC conference games exclusively. We will compare this with the actual point differential between NFC conference games exclusively. Whoever is closest wins this fourth tie break.
  5. The fifth tie break is a coin flip or some other random means.

This poll and the opportunity to enter the contest will close Thursday, Sept. 8, at 8:30 PM.

The winner will be announced after the end of the 2011 regular season.

Good luck!

I thought we were going to be terrible after ignoring the OLine (one more frustrating time!) in the draft and seeing there was no way we could sign the big names like Ryan Harris or Logan Mankins. But the Skins got Brown back, got a decent right guard, Chester, for run blocking at least, and Montgomery has looked OK, even if not dominant, The depth on the OLine is paper thin however, and the season is going to depend on whether or not the injuries force us into our "depth". Until that happens, the Skins have an offense. And offense wins ball games.

After the draft I thought 8-8 at best. The OLine play has me adding 2 to that W column, all while crossing my fingers on the imjuries to te OL.

It still all depends on injuries to the OL, as everything else appears to have some depth.

9-7.. prolly too optimistic but i think this is a great schedule for us.. if the eagles run away with the division, the last game could favor us as they'll be resting the bulk of their starters.
