Hi all,

As the preseason is looming, I need to sign up for gamepass before the Steelers game next week, and I was just wondering if anyone had any got any deals on it yet?

Apologies mods if this should have been in the around the NFL section.

Cheers.

Never considered the gamepass option, as I have always looked for an online stream of the other kind - you know, the ones that are free...and I do have sky-tv, which normally gets you 2-3 games during the season. But, I did find those internet streams to be less reliable last year.

What would you expect to pay for this - looks like its about £125-£150 depending on the option you chose.

Think I'm gonna wait until early September - see how the price on game pass looks, but will also have an idea of how many of our earlier games will be shown on sky-tv in the UK by then. There is a good chance the Giants game will get picked, then week 3 its MNF.

Wonder if the gamepass price drops if you subscribe during the season - anyone know ?

Just renewed my Gamepass which does include Redzone by the way. Cost was a whisker under £160. I am on a fibre broadband connection now which means I'm getting HD quality pictures (well almost) and the only games blacked out are the games shown on Sky over here which I have anyway.

I would not be without it. Link to subscription options below - there are cheaper rates if you just follow one team rather than have unlimited choice.

Martin, couple of questions on this - Is the quality still good running on a 'normal' broadband connection, & what is the DVR controls functionality like, can you literally pause the live game, then fast forward etc...Thanks

Hi guys, cheers for the all the responses, much appreciated.

I used gamepass last year and loved it so I'm definitely getting it this year, I was just wondering if anyone had any codes or promos to bring the price down a tad.

In answer to the above question, I think the quality of streaming is very good overall and the pause etc functions work very well. Probably my favourite aspect though given the time zone effect on the late games is that all the games, including preseason, are archived so you can watch them when it suits you.

Last year I was on a pretty poor connection, we routinely got less than 1 MB speed and the quality was OK. If you have more than 1 MB you will be just fine. You can pause, rewind, fast forward back to live etc etc no problem. The other benefit of the subscription is you get full access to NFL Network,

I hook my laptop up to my plasma and now you can't tell it's a streaming picture.

I'm thinking of getting the gamepass, but I'm on Vodafone G3, pay as you go dongle. Does anyone know how much a full game would cost to watch?

10 mins of porn costs me about £1.50!

I'm not sure you what picture quality you would get (depends on your network quality I guess) but I would have thought the cost of watching a 3 hour plus broadcast would be a show stopper.

I think we get three Redskins games live down here, but normally I just sit and watch via NFL GameCentre. I love it how it refreshes at the end of every quarter so that it is like a recap. Every play is shown again until they get back to live time.

Then there is the delay of game. In this instance, it's not a 15 yard penalty, but up to a 15 minute pause in action, with absolutely no plays getting displayed. When the delay is over, we go back live, so we have missed a part of the game. On several occasions, that delay coincided with a Redskins TD!.

I would much rather access to a downloadable replay of the game. I can then pick and choose whether to waste my download, or whether it is worthwhile. I do get to download 200GB a month, and rarely get to that limit, so it won't really be a waste if I were to download blow-outs.

Thanks Martin - I get 4MB+ speed, sound like this is a good option for me. Especially if I can pause it for half an hour whilst helping out with the kids during those early games !

After some more advice on gamepass here - Might be a stupid question but here goes..

If I logged into gamepass tomorrow at say 7pm UK time (one hour into the game), does the gamepass link take me to that live point in the game, or does it take me to the start of the game?

Same goes for logging in at say 9.30pm UK time - is the full game there to view as soon as its finished ?

I'm not 100% on this as I have never logged on part way through a Redskins game :-) However I'm pretty sure that if you join part way through you will be taken at login to wherever the game is live - however you will be able to rewind to the beginning of the game from that point. You challenge of course will be to try to avoid seeing the score when you first login.

If you wait to the end of the game the game is available to rewatch as soon as it finishes but it will still have the adverts and breaks. Its only the next morning that the replay with he ads taken out is available.

All you lucky ****s that are eligible for game pass! I live in Guam and they don't play the games here very often (guess because we aren't one of the 50 states) and they don't have Direct TV so I can't get Sunday Ticket. But we are still technically part of the US so I'm not eligible for game pass either. FML.

Thanks, looks like I need to change my plans later to make sure I'm back for kick-off. First real-run tonight with gamepass, so looking forward to seeing how it goes. :D

There is a program called Express VPN, it's $13 a month. You log in and then can pick where you want your IP address to show up from. There are options for UK, Netherlands and various points in the US. I've been using this for about 2 years to get access to US TV networks and when I'm back in the US I use it to get the Skins game when it's not available in the city that I'm at.

It is going to start you where ever the game is "live" but there is a good chance that the score will not be up on the screen so you could just drag the scroll bar back to the beginning and start over.
