John Beck & Tony Romo, living in a parallel universe.

Romo sits to pee starts his career as an un-known, un-tested, inexperienced backup, replacing an older, solid veteran, who many believed still had some gas in his tank – Drew Bledsoe.

He was rushed into that role, not due to necessity or injury, but by a controversial coach’s decision that caught everyone by surprise. In the above scenario, replace Romo sits to pee with Beck, and Bledsoe with McNabb, and you have an almost parallel scenario.

No-one expected the un-drafted Romo sits to pee to succeed as he did – except his coach, Bill Parcells. In fact, many thought it was a crazy decision at the time. Likewise now, no-one is now expecting Beck to succeed, except his coach Shanahan.

Both coaches of these QB paralleled experiments- Parcells and Shanahan -are Super Bowl winners.

Throw in one more parallel : Shanahan heavily pursued and courted Romo sits to pee, after Romo sits to pee went undrafted when Shanahan was coach of the Broncos. But of course, Shanahan never got that chance, since Romo sits to pee chose Dallas.

Perhaps the same instinct that Shanahan used to accurately see Romo sits to pee’s potential as an un-drafted QB, is the same instinct that is guiding Shanahan to see the potential in an otherwise un-wanted QB in Beck.

That was Shanahan’s instinct. MY instinct is tell me that history will repeat itself.

And we will see the 2nd coming of Romo sits to pee, the Romo sits to pee that Shanahan didn’t have a chance to groom, since Romo sits to pee went to Dallas instead of Denver. So Shanahan gets a 2nd chance at grooming his future star. And of course, Beck gets a 2nd chance to succeed in a system that actually gives him a fair chance.

Mark my words – John Beck will be the next Tony Romo sits to pee – only without the turnovers and chokes.

That's my homer prediction.

So, don't be so quick to discount Beck, Oh Fans who swore Colt Brennan was going to be the savior of the franchise.

We have the absolute worst QB situation in the league right now...this is a rebuilding year. Neither Rex nor Beck are the answer at the most important position. Don't go through the brain damage of trying to convince yourself otherwise.
Man you Beck fans are seriously going to be in for a rude awakening if he is actually starting week one. However, I expect Grossman to start and your delusions about Beck to continue.

With comments like these, I guess its gonna be real quiet in the Stadium if Beck is awarded the starting job. I mean based on some of the comments i've read in the past few days <see above> if Beck can manage to find his way out of the tunnel and actually line up behind center he will have accomplished more than what some of you give him credit for. God forbid he actually completes a few passes or even throws for a TD or two. The way I see it, if some of you have already deemed him as the worst QB in the history of the NFL, well then there won't be much to ***** about if he doesn't perform. Yep, I guess it sure will be quiet around here

It will be quiet around here. No way we win more than 7 games with our current QB situation--and I'd be surprised if we win that many. I'm looking at this season as our first serious rebuilding year in a long, long time. I won't be disappointed by that, but we should all face reality and realize that this isn't a playoff team right now.

If the worst QB in the league can manage to win 7 games this year than he has the absolute best supporting cast of players around him in the history of the NFL. Either that, or just maybe he's not the worst QB in the NFL. :)

I never said he was the worst. But, your point is well taken. I said we have the worst QB situation, and I really believe that. We don't even know if we have a legit NFL starter on our roster. Not a good place to be a month before the season kicks off. We'll see. I'm seriously tempering my expectations.
