Mad Mike
Assuming we keep 5 wide receivers. I would be surprised if more than two of the older vets (including Moss) stick around. I think we almost have to keep three young guys to develop for the future and I think we have at least three young guys with the talent to be solid with at least one of them becoming a star. ---------- Post added July-28th-2011 at 02:16 PM ---------- With McNabb gone we really need to sign T.O if we want to win this season. Oh HELL no.
chipman5544
Did Shanny bring Stokely to Denver in the first place? I don't know. Either way he was productive for the Colts years back and would give a reliable target to a young inexperienced quarterback. Shame we didn't get to sign him. mbws
Thanks, appreciate the good info. For some reason I thought that roster expansion was part of the new cba. Here's to hoping the staff has to make some really tough decisions by the excellent product in preseason games. Maybe we'll run across a team that's wr starved but has an overage of OG's to deal with before September. Rosters did not expand, but they did increase the game day actives by one. Maximus71
So what happens to the trade we made?
PleaseGoForTheWin
Stokley was the only one of those guys who I actually was happy about. Stallworth infuriates me. Yea, actually I would rather have had Stokely than Stallworth, too.
Win4us
Rosters did not expand, but they did increase the game day actives by one. Gotcha. You would think both sides would welcome a roster expansion though. Nothing drastic mind you but maybe 2-3 protected player slots added.
SwampEm
He has only had one year with more than 1000 yards or 10 TD's. He did both of these things in 2004. He is 84 years old. We don't need him.
aREDSKIN
Wait, aRedskins, the ES member is Brandon Stokley? Damn my cover is now blown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Signatures upon request. Skins trying to low ball me.
s0crates
Makes sense. Stokley would have had a hard time cracking the lineup here.
vicrodjr
Did he have a real shot to make the team?

Conn
So what happens to the trade we made? You're thinking of Gaffney.
RabidFan
Stallworth won't make the roster but we need seasoned guys to implement camp as the rooks will be deer in headlights in the initial days. I'm glad for Stokely backing out as he had no chance making the roster and Santana can school the rooks. Moss, AA, Hankerson, Gaffney(who is still way productive and is taller than Moss/Banks/Austin and keep Austin and Paul(if can returrn kicks) and then you have to choose between Banks and Robinson....we are all about getting younger and obviously there is a disdain for Banks though he is electrifying.....if Paul or Austin can duplicate his gears(and I can't imagine so but if they can be STers AND WRs then they hold a chip over Banks) then we have our six. mi6
Stokely not signing with us ... not a big deal. Still would like to see if we push for Braylon Edwards. Or Sidney Rice ...
Hitman21ST
Or Sidney Rice ... Too late. Rice is a Seahawk.
