Unforgiven

Yes, utterly ridiculous but I couldn't help myself.

However, what if they do trade Kolb and can't find a reliable backup for Vick and mid-season he goes down. Do you think if the team was in good shape and they gave ole' Favre a call, he would suit up?

I hate myself so much for asking this....God, please let free agency start.

Nothing surprises me with Favre anymore. Nothing, but winning a Super Bowl, surprises me with the Philthy Eagles. So, if this happened, I would not be surprised. Though, it would be interesting to see how much money Brett would want to play the back-up role, and if it would be worth it to trade Kolb, a much younger QB, to pick up the ancient one and the salary he might demand.

So Michael Vick tweeted : "I would be honored to have Brett Farve as a backup. That will be amazing Learning how to toy with defenses the way he did his whole career"

Soon after he deleted it.

Also,

Glazer saying 2 anon eagle sources are denying it, which I couldn't imagine any other response from the organization.

Why?

They have Vick.

Favre is too elitist to take a bench role. Retire and then coach a team if you like football so much.

You never know.........plus, Favre would be better than probably all the other back-up QBs in the league. He played in the same offense that Philly runs his entire career. He's a gun slinger and would have two of the fastest WRs at his disposal (Jackson and Macklin). I bet he could handle being a back-up if the money is right.

Think about it, he had the best year of his career two seasons ago, but played hurt most of last season and didn't have Sidney Rice until like week 12 or 13 and Percy Harvin missed a ton of time due to migranes. Their team was beat up last year and he wasn't 100%.

I wouldn't mind it at all. Favre doesn't have anything left in the tank. The Eagles are nowhere near what the Vikings were two years ago. Favre would want to start, making him a locker room distraction, and the Eagles would have to change their gameplan enormously when he has to come in for Vick.

I don't think Favre would have trouble being a back up at all. His streak is over, which I think is all he ever cared about. Everyone knows Vick is only good for 12 games at most, Favre would have a legit shot to prove he's worth the starting role at some point during the season. Favre knows that, worst care scenario, he keeps collecting money and being on a roster, and best case scenario Vick goes down and he gets a 2nd ring. There isn't any streak anymore to make him demand starts.
