How hard is it to get around Atlantic City without a car?

I think you'll be very happy with your choice. The Borgata has two towers......the original big one and a smaller one called the Water Club. Might be interesting to see how much extra per night they want for the Water Club......the rooms are a little newer and a little more upscale.

The only drawback is that its in the Marina area with only two other casinos, and you really can't even walk to those from the B. However, as p_g mentioned, you can take advantage of the jitney and go over to the Boardwalk.......would be a nice way to kill time with a good walk and check out the other casinos, even if they are really nothing special (especially compared to Vegas) and the rest of the places are mainly T-shirt shops and pizza joints. The Pier at Caesars, however, is nice and worth checking out.

Most of the state of NJ is trash. That's common knowledge, bro.

And if that's not what you meant (since you never elaborate), I know you aren't saying AC is better than Vegas?

First of all you stated "the whole state". That is far from true and you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Secondly, I elaborate when needed, to tell you that you are wrong should not need any explanation or drawn out details.

Most of NJ being trash is common misconception, not knowledge, it is ignorant and uninformed people that even make that statement.

To me that would be like someone saying all rap/hip-hop music is garbage...wait...nevermind.

I'm staying at the Days Inn on the boardwalk this weekend. Looks to be in walking distance of everything I want for my buddy's bachelor party, hopefully the hotel isn't a bad experience but we just plan to sleep there for one night and not even really be in the room at all.

I think I stayed there once. No frills, but safe and clean. Really if all you need it for is the bed and you plan to be out and about its probably the way to go.

I've been to AC a handful of times and only stayed in a major casino (Borgata) once. Otherwise, we just stay at a regular hotel (Super 8, etc.) just off the boardwalk. I've never felt unsafe walking around, though I'm usually in a group. There was a trip where I woke up at dawn one morning with the urge to gamble and walked by myself...had no problems with locals.

I've never been to Vegas so I can't compare the two, but I've always enjoyed AC. Lower stakes, and the poker rooms often have people in there that don't know what they're doing, so you can make a few bucks if you're patient.

I know this is a bumped thread, but I'm curious as to how the trip went.
