Jacob Barnett has an IQ of 170 - higher than Albert Einstein - and is now so far advanced in his Indiana university studies that professors are lining him up for a PHD research role. The boy wonder, who taught himself calculus, algebra, geometry and trigonometry in a week, is now tutoring fellow college classmates after hours. And now Jake has embarked on his most ambitious project yet - his own 'expanded version of Einstein's theory of relativity'. Click link for rest of the story. The 12th Commandment
I just love stuff that makes me feel really, really stupid. Not. Glad this kid is an American though and not Chinese. :pfft:

Dan T.
Smart at math, but look at 2:10 of the clip... It's freezing outside. There's a foot of snow on the ground. YOUR DOG WANTS IN!! You don't have to be super smart to understand that.

Dan T.
Guarantee he was intently focused on what he was doing. True, and I'm just kidding around. I'm fascinated and awed by kids like that. It just points to how wonderous and powerful the human brain is. What's that movie out right now with Bradly Cooper, whose character finds an experimental pill that allows him to use all of his brain capacity? Corcaigh
Pretty awful reporting. Many high school physics students could tell you the flaw in his problem with nucelosynthesis during the Big Bang.

Corcaigh
It will be interesting to see how he develops. Many recent young prodigies have just earned their doctorate ridiculously early but do not become superstars in their field.

Dan T.
I really hope he removes himself from the media spotlight and just uses his gift in research. I hope he becomes a modern day circus side show freak, going from talk show to talk show dazzling viewers with cheap mental gymnastic games, impregnates some teenage movie hottie, invents an amazing hallucinigenic drug and then becomes addicted to it, rehabs at Charlie Sheen's house, becomes a contestant on Dancing With the Stars or Trump's hideous Apprentice show, writes a rise-from-the-ashes memoir, then emigrates to Peru and lives out the remainder of his life on a sheep farm.
