Per the source, the league is bracing for the possibility of a ruling from Judge David Doty that would force the doors to remain open, compelling the league to allow player movement and trades as soon as 12:01 a.m. Saturday. Lockout or opening the new league year are both options. Opening the league year would "show" the owners didn't want a lockout all along and wanted football so it strengthens there message in a sense.
