My video game profile/what should I play?

For posting your profile and suggesting games accordingly.

Profile: Been a casual gamer for approximately 20 yrs. I primarily look for a good story. Outside of football, games without a good story bore me. I only play FPS occasionally as they make me queasy sometimes When I play a game I usually play only on easy or normal. Playing on hard or harder usually loses my interest as I don't like dying 100 times to get by one level. With that I have never, nor have any interest in multiplayer. I think the only game I ever enjoyed multiplayer is tecmo bowl, but even then I was a teenager. I have owned a NES, Nintendo 64, Xbox, and Gamecube.

I presently own a PS3. My top 5 games all time, in order:

1. Knights of the Old Republic

2. Resident Evil 4

3. Orcina of Time

4. Xwing Alliance

5. Super Tecmo Bowl

My present inventory, favorite to least favorite:

Arkham Asylum / 10

Uncharted 2 / 10

GTA 4 / 9.5

Dead Space / 9.0

MGS4 / 9.0

God of War 1 and 2 / 9.0

Red Dead Redemption / 8.5

God of War 3 / 8.5

Chronicles of Riddick / 8.0

Madden 11 / 8.0

Dead Space 2 / 8.0

Modern Warfare 2 / 7.5

Ninja Gaiden Black / 7.5

Force Unleashed / 7.0

Resident Evil 5 / 5.0

Ghostbusters / 3.0

HelloKitty Island Adventure is always a blasty-blast. Try that one.

And, yes, I do play. :paranoid:

Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 will fulfill every one of your requirements. They are like updated, non-Star Wars KOTOR games...with JUST as deep a backstory/expanded universe. And that's not really an understatement. Amazing story/gameplay.

I would recommend playing a character with with powers, though, otherwise, its like an FPS RPG. Still amazing, and the gameplay is sick, but its just better when you can do Jedi-like things haha.

If I didn't like Fallout, think I would like Mass Effect or Dragon Age? I played a little of DA II demo, it seems good. But then I don't want to waste money like I did with Fallout.

I did not like Fallout either, but love Dragon Age. Check out videos on YouTube. Dragon Age is not the pretiest game, but it is certainly fun and addicting. I have not played ME yet, but will soon.

Also, DAII has way better graphics than DA Origins. But, the story in Origins is great. The demo gameplay was very shallow compared to what you can actually do in the game.

Also, to the OP. I have not tried these, but how about Castlevania and Darksiders? I have read good things on message boards about Darksiders and just bought it for $10 on eBay plus shipping. Everything I read say it is a cross between God of War and Zelda. I heard Castlevania was very God of Warish also.

No offense to anyone that liked it, but i hated Heavy Rain. I thought it was pretty boring frankly and involed entirely too much quicktime. In any case, i respect the opinions of others, just wasn't my thing.

I would recommend you check out Assassin's Creed 2 or Brotherhood.

They both have highly immersive stories, you are able to explore at will, and it's not terribly difficult at all. I thought they were both a ton of fun.

Here is actual gameplay. Plus, you can get them for cheap at Gamestop.

Get on Bad Company 2 if you want a FPS. I've played (and will continue playing) every FPS on the market, but none have held a candle to BC2. I'm worried that I'm gonna even hate Crysis 2.

I haven't even started the single player on AC Brotherhood, I like BC2 so much. I'm 10 minutes in to God of War III because I can't stop playing BC2. I haven't even started Demon Souls (which you should check out, based on your likes -- supposedly one of the best RPGs ever). Dante's Inferno is collecting dust. So is Bayonetta.

As far as Heavy Rain, don't buy it. Rent it and play it without going back at all. Do not play it as you would a normal game -- if something "bad" happens, keep going. I did this and can honestly say that Heavy Rain was the most rewarding single player game I've ever played, hands down. I wouldn't recommend replaying to get the alternate endings, though, because the experience wouldn't be anywhere near as rewarding the second time. Just youtube them after you've finished.

Heavy Rain isn't for all I guess, it can be more of a movie than a game. The Assassins Creed series is awesome.

Exactly! I fully appreciated what they were doing and it was innovative. However, I didn't really feel like I was playing a game.

Ugh I hated Assassins Creed. One of the most overrated games ever imo. And I normally like games like that. It was just so damn repetitive. I never played the second one but I didn't read anything that said it was any different than the first.

How about inFamous?

The improvement from AC 1 to the next ones is huge, you should try it out. It's not as bad as the first. I'm interested in Infamous as well. I never played it and I know a sequel is coming out.
