Hear Every #1 Song in a Row - 5 Seconds at a Time

Now this is a cool plaything. This guy has created a sound collage of every #1 hit from 1956 through - so far - 1992, with little 5 second clips one after another. You can listen through, or click along the timeline to hear the short clips from different eras. For any fan of music, it is an amazing aural delight as you hear snippet after familiar snippet...

Very fun, so I thought I'd share:

Enjoy!

Boysetsfire and I listened to this (ther are actually 3 parts) one night last week. I was fun to see how many songs/artists we recognized. It got less fun once you get up to the more recent (post high school) stuff.

Fun game. Where's the third part? The link I found has two, and they only go up to 1992...

It's amazing how much stuff from the 60's is just so immediately identifiable.

I also love all the *blocks of music". The Michael Jackson block, the Beatles block, the Saturday Night Fever block.

yes yes yes yes YES awesome awesome AWESOME. I am loving this. Currently a little less than 10 minutes into it. I think I'll quit when I get to the 80s however. I'll stop enjoying it so much.

The first WTF is Disco Duck. Then the 80's....except gems like Down Under and Take on Me

There are a few at the end of part 1 that I enjoyed, but there was a growing space between them. I finished part 1 a few minutes ago. Part of me doesn't want to listen to part 2 and part of me does just to finish it. Though I won't enjoy it as much as part 1, it's still awesome.

oh god...I think I'm gonna have to pass on part 2 then. :ols: Or at least just blindly click ahead when I get to a song I can't stand. I think I'm gonna re-start part 1 and put some headphones on and fall asleep to it tonight. :cloud9:
