Season Ticket Renewals

RFK FedEx, I got that one, too. Looks like one last push before they start the auto upgrade.

In recent years they've been pushing new ST accounts and additional seats for existing accounts all the way through August. I don't think this will have any impact on seat upgrades.

I think my email said something to the effect of, "hurry, before we start the auto upgrade process" or something similar.

I have considered it myself... definitely will add another when my son is a little older... but I need the extra coin right now.

Two seats opened up in 446, Row 1. Just got a call from the TO confirming I wasn't renewing.

After a 9 year wait, I came off the list 3 years ago and started in 413 Row 2 (good seats for a first year STH; I took advantage of the Ticket Office Circus that summer and got the "right person" on the phone). The next summer I was offered the chance to move to the LL end zone (which would have meant LL seats in my second year, which may have broken a record for General Admission account holders). I declined because I don't like LL end zone seating. Moved to 446 Row 1 last year. Good seats, but I didn't like paying sideline prices for what was definitely an end zone view. I told the rep I would be willing to renew if they could move me closer to midfield, or even downgrade me to the cheaper UL end zone seats (provided I stayed in Row 1 or 2). All he could do was say it would be noted on my account, but they couldn't promise anything. I give the TO credit for sticking to their policies. A couple years ago, I would have probably been given a choice of seating, and maybe even a jersey or free tickets. This year, nothing. Times have definitely changed.

Sad to part with the tickets, but in the end they were more trouble than they were worth. For the next few years I will only be able to make a few games per year (work and family commitments), and the secondary market for upper level seats is just dead.

The Redskins are on the verge of a return to greatness. If you continue as a Redskin fan, you will have great joy. Good luck!

>> More trouble than they are worth sums it up pretty well. A friend of mine reached the same conclusion a few years ago and his seats were better. On the bright side, you can buy them back on stubhub for less $ and less hassle for the games you want to go to.

With RG3 and some new excitement I do think the secondary ticket market will be better this year. Skins abviously need to win some, but if they do I think you will find prices to buy tickets on Craigslist and StubHub will go up. Also StubHub has the 15% fee you have to account for in the price. I know as a STH I will sell some games for at least cost if not a little more. If a non STH wants to go to about two games or so a year then even paying a little more is worth it over the headache of selling tickets, however I do not want to see STH selling at below cost because then it brings the price down for everyone (which is not fair to the STH, especially because of the preseason tickets we have to pay full price for). Again. I think we are finally going to get to a place where ST are worth something again, at least I am hopeful. I also hope that once we do start makingU playoffs (I know wishful thinking) the prices do not go up in the future.

Also, has a FYI- TO confirmed that upgrades will be completed after the soccer game, which means we should all start seeing them sometime in the first week of June, which makes sense.

I agree that the Skins are headed down the right path, and giving up my tickets in no way means that I'm giving up as a fan. Season tickets just don't work for me right now (based on schedule and finances). I accept that Skins tickets may once again become a very hot item (I saw this firsthand with the Capitals).

By the way, I confirmed today that there is no more gray lot. If you are unhappy with the B-3 "upgrade" you will not have the option to stay in gray according to TO. They said that would be a staff lot from now on.

Wow....no more gray lot. That means quite a few people got significant upgrades into green parking. Between the reduced number of seats in the upper level and moving staff to the gray lot should help to reduce traffic, particularly on the Redskins Road exit. Skins seem to be trying to move more traffic via Morgan Blvd.....which sucks for me.....Morgan Blvd is the best kept secret at FedEx Field.

Is that confirmation from the ticket office?

Yes, it is from the ticket office. I inquired about the B3 upgrade and asked if it was a possibility to decline the upgrade and stay in the gray lot. The rep, who seemed knowledgeable, told me that was not possible because there was no longer a gray lot. She said they've done away with it and upgraded everyone who was there to B3. I asked what it would be used for since it was discontinued and she told me it was going to be staff parking. Very nice person and very informative. A very big deal from my point of view. That lot is just a few minute walk to the stadium.

And I agree, I use Morgan Blvd. anyway and have NEVER had any traffic issues. They are advertising B3 as being accessible from ALL entrances, however. Not sure how that's going to work.

So if everybody in Gray is upgraded to Green B3 or Green - is that possible?? Where WAS the staff lot? I saw one game where a bunch of them got off a bus next to the stadium.

I think it will be a HUGE mistake to allow B3 to come in any exit they want.

Well, B-3 parking has always come in either Morgan Blvd or Arena Drive in the past. I don't see how they can let them come down Redskins Road. They would have to escort them around the circle or I suppose through the PG Sports Arena parking lots like they have in the past for overflow parking. It just seems like it is going to be very difficult to force Green B-3 passes to bypass all the Green parking lot areas and park in only Green B-3. Seems like it would be a little easier if it was a different color pass.

I always thought most staff was bussed in anyway. I have to assume a lot of those "empty" seats had green parking passes at some point. The turnover over the past couple years must have been large enough to upgrade everyone in the gray lot.

Shhhhhhhh. Geez, bro... lol

:ols: Yeah, I know...I debated whether to add that last part when I posted. Figured there aren't that many on Extremeskins to make the difference. Most folks on here don't have season tickets or even go to the games anymore.

I have a Green parking pass courtesy of the Great Green give away a few years back. I've always parked in the B-3 lot. I get there when the lot opens and tailgate heavily. I enjoyed that lot b/c it was under utilized. No hastles about where I tailgated. Plenty of room to throw a football. Even last year when they started the B-3 only passes there was plenty of room. Only drawback I found was that my wife had to walk all the way up to the top of the parking lot to use the Johnny on the Spots. I'd get into and out of the stadium quickly and I used the back exit out of the lot to save time when all the lemmings head towards Morgan. I've never parked in another green lot. If they spoil this one for me does anyone have a good spot they want to share?

I can second this statement.... I called back and told them I wanted to decline the B3 upgrade and stay in gray. There was no mention of staff parking there, but they did say that I could stay in the gray lot.

I just checked my season ticket account, and there is an auto upgrade invoice showing up, but my seats are the same. I called the ticket office to see what the deal is. (The ticket office did not answer) Does anyone else have anything similar?

Nevermind... it is my 2011 auto upgrade invoice. It is still a change from what was there last week. I am dying to see where my new tickets are.

Oye... thanks for posting that update. I would've gone into full shutdown mode here at work, lol.

No... that does not mean anything. The tickets disappeared and then reappeared. I think we are going to find out very soon. I also imagine that almost every person that asked for an upgrade is going to receive something (unless you already have really good seats). I know a ton of people who gave up their tickets. I've been a season ticket holder for 11 years and I have never seen a home playoff game. If they don't make the playoffs in the next few years, I will have to consider giving up my tickets.

FWIW, my tickets have not reappeared. I'm moving from club to GA, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Also moving from Club to GA. No tickets listed, just my $25 shipping charge. Even though I have paid for 3 LL tix already. That is annoying, not having any proof of purchase other than the charges on my CC from WASHINGTONREDSKINS for thousands of dollars. Usually you at least get to see what you paid for in the invoice. Now, no invoice available. Not even TBD for sec, row and seats.
