SuperBash
Anyone ever give their time to Americorps and want to share some experiences? I am graduating college this spring and I don't want to go right into the workforce. I wanted to go straight for my Masters but I'm kinda thinking I'd rather take a year off since I just turned 21 and I'm still very young. It seems like a great way to travel and do something good for the world, while getting paid at the same time for living expenses and money for Grad School. renaissance
A classmate of mine did I think the NCCC program...the one where you are put in a group and do various projects in a region of the US. She loved her experience. I looked in to it, but was too old by the time I really wanted to do that particular program (the age limit for NCCC is like 24). Anyway, it's a good way to get some professional experience, and many grad programs offer additional scholarships/fellowships for people who completed AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, or Teach for America.
