Disclaimer: I rarely start threads, this is my idea...no matter how idiotic it may be.

I was in between meetings when listening to Lavar and Dukes regarding the ongoing theme: As long as Dan Snyder is charge, the Redskins will always be a calamity. What would you do about it?

How big is Redskins Nation? FedEx stadium dictates it's 91,000 strong. Whatever, it's quite larger than that. In fact, it can be argued that it's as big as any of the top five franchises in the NFL and generates top 3 revenue numbers. For now. Oh, and this is revenue that goes to Dan Snyder. I hear all this talk about boycotting, hit'em where it hurts, blah, blah, blah. I suggest, give him what he wants. Money.

Why are the Redskins consistently pulling in galactic revenue? It's not the value of the product put on the field over the course his tenure here, it's because the DMV is the most AFFLUENT AREA IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY! Is America still the best? Let's see.

We'll pretend that there are 50,000 well-to-do people that actually attend Redskins games. Hundred's of thousands more dedicated fans that are smart, and stay away from 495 on game day in which translating watching the Skins each Sunday into a monetary value is a non-factor. Or in the least, very challenging to do.

My proposed solution is as such: Petition 100,000 Redskins fans across the nation to pledge $10,000 to Dan Snyder to negotiate with a responsible party to sell the team. This represents $1,000,000,0000 in cash to him (additional tax breaks for individual gifts of $9,999).

Could you imagine the look? Hey Danny (ie. **** you), here's a billion ****ing dollars courtesy of the Skins Nation. Kick rocks.

Dan Snyder sells the team to the responsible party for what he paid for it, approximately $800,000,000. The Redskins are currently valued in the $1,300,000 range, which represents $500,000,000 in immediate equity to the investor. Dan gets his mega-pay-day, we get a different owner...and stock in the team. In turn (in/codependent of the $500,000,000 margin), specific revenues of the Washington Redskins are paid in part to the original investment pool with NO GUARANTEE for complete monetary payback.

In lieu of a logistics nightmare (that would be handled by the responsible party stakeholder), do you care enough?

Why now? I don't get it. I could understand this thread being started two or three years ago, but now? Snyder has mad MANY mistakes, but he tries to win. Now, he's finally done what people have been screaming for him to do for the past decade, hire real football people to make the football decisions, and people still want him to sell the team?

The team is heading in a new direction, one that fans have been begging for. Things take time to develop, and just steering the ship in the right direction doesn't mean that there won't be some rough seas ahead for a time. Some of the posters here need to just learn how to be patient and realize that the fast, high tech world doesn't relate to the real world when it comes to instant gratification.

Wait, do I have to shell out 10k? Well I don't have it right now, but I can write you a check!

It's cheque - some how I don't have a lot of faith that the cheque would clear since you can't even spell it :)

Edit. Just realised check is the US spelling. Apologies.

As to the OP I would find $10K but I think you would need more than $1 Billion to be honest and I really don't think Dan would want to sell anyway. Owning the Redskins is an ego trip for him as much as it is a business venture.

It's hard to fathom trying to topple a decade of dumb ideas with another dumb idea. And this sounds like one of those emails you get from an African prince who found out he owes you money and wants to transfer all of it into your savings account.

Besides, I'd be happier if everyone would chill the **** out and give the current FO at least ONE more season before sending $10,000 to purchase negotiating services for Snyder.

It's cheaper, and everyone likes saving money. The only way I'm giving $10,000 of my cash is if I'm buying stock in the team, otherwise this idea is ludicrous.

Or we could collect 10 dollars from the fans and then pay all the haters to go away

I would go for this :ols:

That's pretty funny that you missed the American spelling of check. I've seen so many times in here where Americans will correct someone from England and Canada on their spelling of "defence, offence, etc." And they don't realize the other country spells it different.
