Dubble A
Dear Santa, I do not want another Skins jacket, t-shirt, drinking glass collection, blanket set, plastic helmet, autographed football, or some other collectible for Christmas. Nor do I want season tickets, free parking, or sign allowance at the park. Instead, I want you to do something about what used to be a proud organization in the NFL. I’m hoping for a win, a real win, a win where I believe the team did something more than just got lucky, where I believe the personnel playing in the uniforms are in it for more than just a paycheck. I want a win that means something in December. And I’m hoping for a win that doesn’t go into OT or causes me to fret until the final seconds of the fourth quarter. If this is too much to ask for, would you consider giving me an off season where I do not have to see my team over pay for mediocre or troubled players, or those players who are looking to become “paid”? Can you convince the management to use draft picks as they are meant especially given the need for rebuilding this team? And Santa, I know I am asking a lot, but can you get this team past winning just enough games each year to make the fans believe in something special? We beat teams that are headed to the playoffs, and then lose to teams who wouldn’t otherwise have a win. You know Santa; if the Skins are going to lose, then make them lose. Being 6-10, 7-9, 8-8, keeps us out of the upper draft order. Talk about adding insult to injury! I appreciate mediocre records if it means the team is on the upward swing. But the following year we seem to take steps backward. Can you make it so that we get past the hump? Either that or give us a stud in the first round. A QB would be nice. Please make the embarrassment stop. The failed field goals, the lousy stats, the off-season dramas, the in season ridiculousness, the games where the Redskins give record setting or career defining experiences to other teams or players – make it stop! Can Washington be more like the Patriots, Steelers, or Eagles where they play solid each year and make others organizations wish they were like them? Can the Skins be more professional and stop giving away picks to some teams, letting go of players who become studs to others, and firing coaches who go on to win in another town and beat Washington when game day comes around? My kids see replays and documentaries on sports channels showing the glory days of what Washington used to be like. Those days are over and seem like another lifetime. Coach Gibbs came back and restored some pride and winning to the team, but the outcome still came up short. And even his tenure showed a severely reckless handling of player personnel. Add in the pain of losing Sean Taylor… well Santa, it’s been hard being a Redskins fan. I need a break. I need to see this organization not only win, but get past all the mess that does nothing but continually drag the fan base down. We are a proud group of people who need this horrible nightmare to end. Thanks Santa. I know this is a lot. Therefore I will settle for this: please give me a team who stops acting like they are a fantasy football team. Make the Skins competitive and sound. Get DC out of the cartoon sections of newspapers and out of the ridiculing mouths of sports commentators – either that or send some elves to come play the offensive and defensive lines for Washington. Oops! One more thing Santa, (I know you understand)! Please send a note to my fellow fans asking them to be patient and stop yelling for more firings and releases. We need some continuity. All the “win now” mentality is what’s made this team a mess in the first place. Thank you, A Desperate Skins Fan P.S. (I know this is not a request, since you hate Dallas too) If the Skins win no other game this year, give this fan a Dallas stomping. I mean a good old-fashioned butt whippin’. You know, like the ones New York and Philly gave to Washington this year. I’ll take 63 to nothing.

Chase M
Maybe you should write a letter to the Easter Bunny as well
jflow78
I think someone started a thread like this last year, and asked for Vinny to be fired, and within a week or so, Vinny was gone. It was AWESOME.
djnominal
I would be content if half of what was written in the letter was granted this year.
