Chanhillbilly
Its free talent to evaluate. What is the big deal? Armstrong was one of these guys a year ago. Rome wasn't built in a day.
Mr. Sinister
They signed these guys to the freaking practice squad, whoopty-doo.
ThomasRoane
This roster is getting uglier week by week...... I disagree and I'm encouraged. Essentially, we're getting a head start on 2011. Evaluating any available talent. At least it tells me that we're looking towards the future. Obviously, most of what we need is not already on this roster. I dunno who either player is. Never heard of them. But how often do we see no names from small schools shine (Colston from the Saints via Hofstra) and the big name players (Mike Williams USC) fail to make the transition. You never heard of Anthony Armstrong or Brandon Banks before this season did you? Don't be so quick to judge.
SonOfWashington
How many running backs have we been through since final cuts at the end of training camp? Off the top of my head I can think of 9.CP L.Johnson R.Torrain K.Williams J.Johnson C.Simpson J.Davis Kestahn Moore Shawnbrey McNeal Am I missing any? I might be mistaken, but I can't remember in recent years our back field ever being this awful and having this much turn over. Edit: make that 11, I forgot Andre Brown and Quinn Porter. Does Willie Parker count? To be fair, these guys are just being signed to the PS, right?
bird_1972
if we ever kept our #3, #4 and #5 draft picks we wouldn't have to go dumpster diving every time there is an injury at RB or WR. This is a point that is lost on most (and, arguably, the most important point). I hoped that with Shanahan/Allen, we were going to be making a push to get younger. No such luck, I guess. ThomasRoane
WTF? These stupid signing are getting ridiculous. Why sign garbage players? We already have plenty of them on the active roster! How many years do you have working as an NFL Scout?

dg28daman
It's funny people are complaining about Shanny signing no name running backs. Wasn't that the guys whole M.O? He gets 1000 yds with anybody. He's always collected about thrity rbs a year, this is nothing new. Wouldn't be surprised in the least bit to see one of these no names being our feature back soon. Dukes and Skins
Not with this O Line, he won't. You don't think he won't work on fixing the OL? Shanny is a smart guy he's slowly but surely rebuilding this line piece by piece. It started last year with Trent Williams and Jamaal Brown. This year he's going to target the interior and specifically the OG positions. You can't fix an OL in just one year it takes time to rebuild it. Look at some of the most successful OL's in football they were slowly but surely brought together. Tampa Bay did it with 2 guys one year in Trueblood and Joseph who were big helps on their OL. Look for us to fix up and shore up the OL this off season through FA and the draft
Conn
Guys, these are PS signings...chill the hell out. We're using that last PS spot or two to evaluate some young FA's around the league, its what we've done the whole season. I personally like this PS turnover. Raises the chances of finding a gem out there.

GhostofSparta
Question, because I'm unsure on this: How does the PS affect offseason signings? I know this year is different with the CBA trouble, but since rosters can expand to something like 80+ players before TC, are players on the PS technically on the team in that time, do we just get first shot at them when the season ends, or something else? Not that I'm necessarily overly concerned with these 2 specific players being anything other than camp bodies, but more for guys like Cook and Capers who I would like to see amount to something. Mr. Sinister
It's like having a car with no engine and trying to see if new tires make a difference.Getting new running backs, quarterbacks, tight ends or Wide Receivers and keeping OL with little or no talent will never make this offense run. I fail to see what this has to do with signing two jabronis to the practice squadwho probably won't see the field this season, and most likely will be cut before next years training camp. ross3909
Who the f- is Strawberry McNeal?better yet.. Who the f- is Kestahn Moore? Where do we find these guys. I had a Strawberry McNeal in Mexico, little too sweet.
Champskins
LarryWeisman Shanny likes look of RB Andre Brown from work w/scout team. "He has a future here." looks like Davis, well all of the rb's, better prove himself or Brown could be taking his spot on active roster
