PLZW1N
http://www.longwoodlancers.com/news/2010/11/30/MBB_1130100936.aspx?path=mbasket FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University is hosting its first-ever Live TV game against James Madison University on Wednesday, December 1, at 7:05 p.m. as SPORTSfever Television Network from Marietta, Pennsylvania is producing the home game for live national coverage on Fox College Sports (FCS). It will be the first-ever telecast of a Longwood intercollegiate sports event on-campus from Willett Hall. FCS Atlantic TV is available nationwide via most digital cable providers, including Shentel locally, as well as the DIRECTV® (617) satellite network. Former Longwood radio play-by-play announcer Jon Schaeffer, currently the Manager of Media Relations & Broadcasting for the Philadelphia Phillies' Triple-A Affiliate Lehigh Valley IronPigs, will handle the game's play-by-play while former Bucknell (1975-94) and William and Mary (1994-2000)?men's basketball head coach Charlie Woollum will serve as the game's color analyst. The Longwood-JMU game will also be shown via tape-delay on MASN Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 9 p.m., and Comcast will show the game via tape-delay as well on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. I know that many of you will not care about this game but I thought that I would post it anyway. It is a very exciting time here at Longwood it is our first telecasted game here on campus. I am hoping that this game will show that LU does have a strong fan base and can play exciting basketball. Some of you may not know but LU is currently a D1 Indepenent school. We are actively seaching for a conference to play in. Everyone feels that we should join The Big South. VMI and Radford have been pushing the confrence to give LU an invitation. We have been very competitve against teams in the Big South and all of the teams are within driving distance. So if you feel like watching a good men's basketball game tonight tune in. I promise you will see tons of three pointers from the Lancers.

nuposse87
as a JMU alumni, hopefully we have a good game. JMU is playing pretty well as of late, usually we are very mediocre in basketball but we healthy this year, could turn some heads and make a run in our conference. Forehead
Well, there's at least one other Lancer grad on this board, class of '03 here. I guess this is kind of cool. I thought Longwood was joining the Big South, for some reason...guess that didn't work out.
TheGoodBits
JMU will win this game by 20+ points. Won't even be a game. There are a number of better games tonight. I agree ODU/Richmond will probably be the best. Va Tech plays Purdue, and Mason hosts GW (hoping for retribution from our embarrassment last year).
