G.A.C.O.L.B.
That's funny. After the drop they showed a shot of him lining up for the next play and he was all pointing at the sky and crossing himself and mumbling. I was wondering wtf that was about. rebornempowered
He praises God 24/7? Whatever. So, he thinks God is his vending machine? He puts in the praises, God dishes out the blessings. Interesting theology.

Interesting theology. Assuming he actually did write this, I think he deserves credit for it on some level. These players thank God (preposterously, frankly) for every little thing that goes right for them on the field, so blaming him for something going wrong deserves no more criticism than they get for that, imo. You never hear them say, “Jesus made me drop the ball” or, “The Lord tripped me up behind the line of scrimmage.”
aszumilo
Maybe God was helping the Steelers on that play?
TD_washingtonredskins
I liked the offensive lineman who wanted to celebrate with Fitzpatrick, not realizing the pass had been dropped.
Conn
Maybe God was helping the Steelers on that play? Stephen Colbert has a great (satirical, of course) passage from his book about athletes praying to God. Its a letter from God telling them to quit it, because he doesn't interfere in games he's got money on....and he's always got money on games Wish I could find it, but I'm not where my copy of his book is, and I can't find the quote online. SirClintonPortis
lol. Sorry, Steve, it was all you. You were in control of what was going to happen. You dropped it. It's your fault.

It wasn't just that pass either. He dropped FIVE passes today! He was flat out awful.

(I really wish now after this tweet that I had taped when he was pointing up at the sky and talking immediately after the drop. This isn't some **** he thought out, he immediately went there, lol.) NoGravity
Maybe God was helping the Steelers on that play? Or the referees. I love the no call on the hold on Casey Hampton right up the middle after he's behind number 67. Also, the 2 o-linemen (51 and 63...the one prematurely celebrating) holding Lawrence Timmons from behind as he runs right past them.
Waldo da Magnificent
Makes as much sense as players thanking God for all the good things that happen. God's gotta take sides at some point.

MusicCitySkin
I love these athletes that think God sees them as so special he would get involved in their play on the field. Get over yourselves, you egomaniacs. God didn't create you so you could catch a football well.
scruffylookin
I actually agree that it is a good thing that he feels this way and expressed it in public. At least he is consistent. If you're one of those types who feels the need to thank "god" in public all the time for good things, then have the balls to blame "him" when things don't go well. soljaofjesus
If "God" intervenes in football games, instead of taking care of people in real need, this is not a God Id want to worship.
