This made me feel so old

scruffy...I think that's because, as a singular game, it was as physically dominating as any game you'll see. I understand that, in the grand scheme of things, it's relatively meaningless but so what. We have plenty of games that go down in Redskin lore that meant little to nothing in the big picture, but we still remember them.

I think everyone concedes that during that era, the Eagles couldn't hold a candle to the Redskins. We won 3 Super Bowls in 10 years while they made the playoffs from time to time and are known more for playing good defense. Since everyone realizes that, there's really no harm in remembering the game on its own merits.

Think about how people talk about the "Hand of God" game from 2006 around here. I still don't understand the hype that surrounds that game considering it was a small blip in an otherwise forgettable season, but people on ES talk about it as one of the greatest games of all-time. It happens. Hype matters!

Man! 1990. I had just graduated college and moved to the DC area in the fall. Even though I have moved around a lot since then (St. Louis, Charlotte, and now Richmond), I keep telling my wife, "We WILL move back to DC"

So yes, I am officially old. Kind of like how I felt when someone started a thread asking what the glory days were like. Hard to think that some people now have no memory of the Redskins being a beast in the East.

Again, its also because people hang their hats on things when they have little else to celebrate. I doubt there are many Eagles fans that remember their championship in 1960. As for the Skins, we do have championships to celebrate, but its getting to the point where they seem to be in the distant past.

As for dominating performances, I would submit that the Eagles blowout last week on MNF was far more dominating overall than the BBG.

Monday night's game was not more PHYSICALLY dominant than that game. Not even close.

You feel old. I was just talking to my Dad about the Clint Longley Thanksgiving game. We had relatives up from Ft Worth. He made them leave before dessert.

ha ha I remember that game! My dad was pissed. "Beat by a ROOKIE!" he was jumping up and down saying that over and over. My mom had to get him to calm down.

I was at the Fox Sports Grill in Downtown Seattle watching the Redskins / Titans Game last Sunday with a bunch of Redskins Fans. When the Skins had 7 players go out I said this is like the Body Bag Game in Philly. One of the Redskins fans asked what was the Body Bag Game. I told him it was a MNF Game in Philly in 1990 where we had so many players injured we were down to Brain Mitchell at QB. He said he does not remember that game because he was only 5!

I told him that made me feel so old! :(

Did you also tell him that we came back to Philly in the playoffs later that year and whipped them 20-6?

I definitely know of the game because of stories and videos and stuff but i was only 3 when it happened. I consider you older fans to be extremely lucky to have been actually able to see Redskins glory. I didn't truly start understanding the game and develop the attention span to start watching full games until I was about 7 or so, therefore I started watching when Norv took over.

Because the Eagles have no SB championships to celebrate, the BBG has been seen as one of the greatest Eagles games by their fans.

Sadly, it'll probably be supplanted by the butt-whooping they administered a few Monday nights ago. As in 1990, we need to make the paloffs and get another crack at them!

The BEST thing about that game is that 6 short weeks later, we went back into the Vet and knocked them out of the playoffs.

Next time an Eagles fan starts waxing poetic about the BBG, remind him of the rest of the story.
