A new position for Brandon Banks-- Offensive Guard???

Burgold

Recommended Posts

Supposedly, after Haynesworth rejected the idea of filling in as an emergency guard if necessary. Coach Forester approached Brandon Banks. Banks immediately strapped on his chinstrap and began heading onto the field. When coach told him to hold his horses the little man puffed out his chest and said,

"Man, I can be at least twice as good at guard as Theismann was at punting!"

Forester, then rubbed his chin thoughtfully and answered,

"Well, Heyer is a bit tall for a guard. You certainly wouldn't block McNabb's sight line. All right kid. If anyone goes down you're up next."

I tell you this kid can do it all.

(What's amazing is two weeks off surgery not only is he back at his original position, but they're expanding his duties and giving him more reps than he had pre-surgery. He is most definitely the little engine that could)

Burgold, this is a lie that came strait from the bowels of hell! You should hang your head in shame for posting this rubbish.

They asked Banks if he wanted to start left guard, and he told them to go get stuffed.

Sources? You want sources???? WE DON"T NEED NO STINKING SOURCES!!!!

Some people around here aren't familiar with Burgold or his testing of new material on us. I'm going to give you a B for funny and a F for believeability.

C'mon, no one else heard this?

I really wasn't going for believeability on this one, but I was delighted that someone jumped on the hook. Btw, it's perfectly possible that Banks could be twice as good at guard as Theismann was at punting

uhhhh...god no. i would be scared that he would get killed against someone of jared allens calliber if hes on the oline.

well you never know until you try. the guy's a professional athlete, and being a kick returner, probably has excellent footwork, which is essential for playing Guard. his quickness could be quite the asset on zone run plays as well. i always said Gibbs should have played Darrell Green more often along the o-line.

Didn't hear that, but I DID hear that one of our trainers tore his ACL (really) and Lorenzo Alexander volunteered to practice with the trainers in addition to defense, offense, and ST. Sadly he went down with his own injury shortly thereafter.

I stopped believing this when I heard Albert Hanyesworth the All Pro Team Player would refuse such a request. We all know he would have strapped on his red boots, red and yellow cape, and gone out there if needed and given his all. I'm so glad we still have Hanyesworth!

To be fair, Haynesworth did volunteer take up some of Banks' duties on punt returns if Brandon was needed on the o-line.

Haynesworth-- I'd be a monster on returns. Who's going to stop me? Who? They all be running the other way once I get a head of steam.

Danny Smith-- Yes! I can see those 90 yard punt returns now. You'd be unstoppable. Go get 'em, monster!

Haynesworth-- 90 yards?

Danny Smith-- You the man!

Haynesworth-- 90 yards?

Danny Smith-- I can see it. Just imagine you busting through that wedge.

Haynesworth-- Man, I ain't never run 90 yards in my life. ****! I don't think that's even possible. No one can do that ****. Never mind.
