Hollywood1127
If we end this season with 4-12 and 2009 with 8-8, should we consider bringing back Al Saunders? Reason why I said him was because he has a lot of influence in the areas we are struggling in. He had a lot to do with the play calling in his stint with the Washington Redskins. He also has a lot of experience with WR coaching, which is an area that we need to address. He did WR coaching with teams such as Rams, Chiefs, Chargers and Redskins. I'm willing to put money on it that he could restore our WR problem that has been on going with the Redskins. His offensive play calling speaks for itself with him building the Kansas City Cheifs offense up to place in the top 10 through 2002-2005. Given the right offensive line, he could restore the Redskins offense. His offense required a QB with an accurate throw and timing. We saw this when Todd Collins filled in for Campbell on the last 4 games of the 2007 season. Todd Collins accurate throwing and Saunder's Coryell play calling got the Redskins to the play offs that season. It's a shame he never was put in as head coach. I believe this was the start of an improvement with us having an experienced veteran QB like Collins and a genious in Coryell offense. I'm not basing this decision off 1 horrible lost on Monday Night Football. I'm basing it off the possibility of 2 loosing seasons. Will Snyder fire Shanahan & son if we go 4-4 in 2010 and 8-8 in 2011? Or will he do the same thing that he did to Zorn, where he suspends their play calling ability and brings in a offensive assistant. If he does do this, should that offensive assistant be Al Saunders? Any thoughts?

CrypticVillain
Any thoughts? Here is a thought, Al Saunders didn't light stiff up the first time he was here. So why would we want to bring him back? Year one, it is year one of the new scheme on offense. Can we at least give it chance to develop before we start bringing back over the hill bums and BINGO callers?

Mr. Cooke
Larry King: "That's what we do, we're pros. We're never rude and we don't cop out. We don't tell you that we're ill or that we're looking for the farmhouse in the middle of the desert. Or that we're parched. We don't tell you that maybe the check didn't come through this month, and where the hell does it go anyway if you're a guy who's left 16 forwarding addresses? So what do you do? What is the answer? Yeah, you're a little perturbed now. Kinda worried about the club." Caller: "The club?" Larry King: "Don't worry about the club. Worry about, maybe, Jackie, my...haha, nah, don't worry. Okay, just cool it. Life is a breeze. Of course, some breezes as you know at 110 mph and get promoted up to hurricanes..."

Hollywood1127
Don't get me wrong. I am willing to give Shanahan & son time, but we all know how Snyder works. Look at what happened to Zorn. Some of us were okay with the 8-8 season, while others weren't. I was okay with it because it was his first year as a head coach. And for a first year as a head coach 8-8 is decent enough. His 2nd and last year, he went 4-12 and yes it was because of the weak O-Line. The O-Line problem goes on Vinny. For years we ignored drafting O-Linemen and this is what it resulted in. But for the bad job Vinny did, he spent many years with the Redskins and coaches got fired for loosing seasons. This was not fair. So pretty much if O-Line is still an issue and we result in loosing seasons, Shanahan & son are likely to get fired. Shottenheimer being the offensive genious that he did lost his job coaching under the Redskins. Later on he gave San Diego a 14-2 season, but then to lose his job to Norv Turner for unknown reasons. All I was saying was that if Shanahan & son don't work out with Redskins, I think Al Saunders should be given chance at head coach. Because if Snyder flips the table on Shanahan, no other legendary coach is going to coach the Skins. I feel this is the last big name coach we will have a for a while.
