terpskins10
So I've been getting into the America's game DVDs as of late, and I figured I would pose a question to ES and see what your opinions are. Now, I want to start with a disclaimer by saying I'm not by ANY stretch saying I think we'll win the Super Bowl or that it's far enough into the season to even begin talking about it. However, after watching the America's Game DVD there are usually 3 guys picked to tell the story of their team from the beginning of the season to the end. Generally, they are guys who played a huge role in their team's success and would be able to articulate the history of the season in the most interesting and engaging terms. These can be both players AND coaches. For example, the story of the 1991 Redskins was told by Gibbs, Mann, and Rypien. Keep in mind that they need not be star players. It could be a random PS guy that comes in and makes a season-altering play or catches the winning TD in the Super Bowl. Let's say that somehow, our dreams are answered and the Redskins take home a Lombardi trophy this season. Who do you guys feel would be the three guys who would be able to tell the story best and fit the above criteria? In other words, which three players do you think are going to be the most instrumental to a potential Super Bowl run and will be able to tell our story best? I leave it to you guys. I'll chime in with my picks later. :logo:
mzkp54
Shanahan, Mcnabb, and Fletcher: our leaders edit: possibly landry if he keeps up with the season he's having, but i'll stick with my original picks
rockfan7224
One can only dream. I would say M. Shanahan, McNabb, and Landry

brandymac27
Shanny, McNabb, and a toss up b/w Fletcher/Landry/Orakpo. To only pick 3 is tough.
thebluefood
It would probably be Shanny, McNabb, and either London or Cooley.
bcl05
Shanny, McNabb, and Lorenzo Alexander. I think LA is a star in the making, and one of the most remarkable and impressive football stories I've ever seen. I want 53 clones of him.
OuterBanksTarHeel
Shanny, McNabb, and I'll say Armstrong or Banks. There's often an "underdog" type out of the three.
CrypticVillain
Duh, it has to be Shanny, McNabb, and Haynesworth.......
frankez99
Colt Brennan, Marko Mitchell, and Devin Thomas..... Duh.....
Duckus
I would want Shanahan, McNabb and Fletcher. For those saying Landry,, have you ever read his quotes on the Washington Post Sports Blog? :ols: The man is an amazing player, but he is not a "voice" for a documentary. Not in a million years. Fletcher, McNabb and Shanahan are all extremely well spoken and comfortable in front of the camera.
OuterBanksTarHeel
Good point on Landry. Hate to be mean, but he can barely form a coherent sentence. I cringe whenever he speaks. No way he'd be on America's Game...which reminds me: please scratch Banks off my list. He makes Landry look eloquent.
CoolUsernameHere
Shanahan obviously, Orakpo, and toss-up between Cooley and McNabb. Mixture of coach, vet and up-and-comers.
redsand521
I think Shanahan, McNabb and Moss would make a good set. But if defense needs to be represented, then Fletcher for sure.

redskins55
Yes the ultimate Karma thread! I love it I've never seen a thread resemble this topic before so I'm claiming this as the ultimate sign that we are Super Bowl bound! I think Shanahan defers is invitation to one of his palyers who've never won a championship before. Like Portis or McNabb ... So its gotta be.. McNabb Portis and Cooley Their stories are great theater for the series.. -McNabb finally wins the big one while playing with his former rival -Portis reunites with Shanahan and can tell the story of how the teams struggled under previous coaches -Chris Cooley (Enough said!) You forgot the best one.... Redskins most hated rival the Cowturds were the preseason Favorite to be the first team to host their own Superbowl but instead Jerry Jones had to deck out his 6 Billion dollar house in Burgundy and Gold to honor the Superbowl bound Redskins!!!!!!!!!! iMeast
If you want people that contribute and can articulate well you have to go with coach Mike Shanahan, Donovan McNabb and London Fletcher. HTTR
