RichmondRedskin88
Looking at the games so far and the ones ahead. Which game or games do you consider statement games? Personally I say the Packers game was a statement game as they were considered a big contender going into this season and had a offense known to light up the scoreboard. The Packers were held to 13 pts though. My other statement game is the Giants game at Fedex. Not only could that game be huge concerning the NFCE race with how close things are looking like they will be in the division this year but the Skins need to finally beat them. Easily can be said for the Giants game in the Meadowlands as well.
Capt'n Obvious
The game this sunday night. If we beat the Packers and Colts in back to back weeks, everyone will start to pay more attention to us. It is a big chance to show the league that we are for real by beating the best QB in the league for the last ten years. People still expect the Colts to turn it on and rip off multiple wins in a row and get back to the dominate Indy team that they've been.
hail2skins
I think Die Hard started a thread with a similar question after the Dallas game, insinuating that game was a statement game. Of course, then we lost the next two. I think in order for something to be a statement game, it should indicate that some sort of corner has been turned. To me, we're still too inconsistent to be "there" yet. I think a solid (and lets emphasize the word SOLID) victory over the Colts might prompt me to consider it a statement. Then again, even after that, I'm still not sure if I'd confidently predict the Skins to go to Chicago or even Detroit and win. It does appear like this team should be in the thick of it late, and I think the real gut checks are going to occur when we go up against Tennessee on the road and Minnesota at home. Rdskn4Lyf21
I agree with Capt'n Obvious. A win this weekend would be a huge statement. Wins against the Cowboys, Eagles, Packers, and Colts in the first 6 weeks?
rd421
This weeks game is huge with back to back wins over solid teams if we beat Indy we have to be recognized as a legit team
Rodriggo
I don't like the term "statement games" b/c honestly this team is in no position to make statements. They legitimately lost to the Rams so anything goes. The statement for most of yesterday? "Good enough to be close, bad enough to lose." Winning is all that matters b/c no matter how hard they try the Redskins will always take a back seat to the Cowboys, Bears or Niners if those teams are even half decent. Just win and keep winning no matter how or what it says. We went 4-12 last year for ***** sake.
Larry Brown #43
Yeah, a win over the Colts a week after beating Green Bay would qualify. I don't think we've had a statement win yet this year, because we haven't beaten anyone convincingly. But following up a win over Green Bay with a win over Indy--convincing or not--would make a statement.

Brandon Lloyd Christmas
a win over the colts for sure. and judging by how sub par the colts have been playing as of late, a win is definitely possible.
D'KanSkinFan
In my opinion, the statement game "statement" should be - We will find a way to win. I want this team to come out and play solid all four quarters. In the past, we were known as a fourth quarter team (Gibbs eras) - last two years, we were known as the "I hope they have enough "umph" to stay on the field for four quarters - Zorn era. Shanny changed that during off season, very obvious during spring training camp. All players were in good to excellent shape through conditioning. We have gone through the Haynesworth disaster, NOW, we need to WIN. Don't care how pretty, don't care if it is a Brady blow out - a win is a win. Did anyone here think Manning would struggle yesterday in KC? No, but he "found a way to win". Let's WIN this game against Indy and let the WIN speak for the Team and Redskin Nation. playoffsplz
I can't say yesterday's game was a "statement" game. That was just a flat out brawl, and we somehow found a way to win. I really think this team is undefinable at this point in the season. Nobody really knows what to expect, but it's been fun to watch. If you want to call any game a "statement" game, I would say it's this Sunday night against the Colts. If we come out, especially on Defense, and play the Colts like we did the Packers....I think we'll start turning some heads. The Packers are a tough, physical team. That was evident yesterday on both offense and defense. Rodgers was taking some huge licks yesterday, and was still giving it everything he had . The Colts, specifically on offense, are not the same. They're more finesse. I don't think Peyton can handle the type of game we played with the Packers yesterday. If the D brings that pressure and intensity with them, and come out with a W, then I think there will be a lot of people looking at us as a physical team that is not to be taken lightly.
