timdaley73
Today's trade will be a BIG BLOW to the Washington Redskins. The hope of resigning/extending Donovan McNabb will be dealt a hard blow. It's only a given that the Minnesota Vikings will pursue Donovan McNabb next year when Bret Favre retires for good. However, in the back of Donovan McNabb's mind, he would love to reunite with Childress with the offense he is very familiar with and teaming up Randy Moss and Adrian Peterson. How do you feel if we wasted a 2010 2nd Rounder (#37 pick) and 2011 3rd or 4th for a 1 year rental?!?!?!
SkinsCrushCowboys
As stated in prior sign DMac threads...franchise him....but I think he will sign and that will not be necessary...
SlobberknockerSkinsFan
Wow... Give the guy a chance to play 1/2 a season at least before speculating will ya? He looks like he's at home here, IMO... I can't agree with the above... And before anyone else says it, not all thoughts should be threads. Laxpunk2006
McNabb leaving is a non issue. He will be extended or franchise tagged. The only way I see him leaving is via trade if he refuses to sign and I would expect the better end of compensation. It is 100% up to Shanahan/Allen where McNabb plays next season and they aren't going to throw away those picks.
HigSkin
I don't know how many different ways this organization, McNabb's agent and McNabb can say they're working on a long term deal and he wants to be here.

That was before today's trade... and no matter what they say, McNabb still does not feel comfortable in Shanahans' offense. He will definitely feel more comfortable with Childress and Moss!! C26 Run
Moss and Childress might not even last. The Vikings have gone all in this season but they had better hope that this offense can take off quickly. Childress is already on very thin ice, which this stinks of desperation. Before we place McNabb in the Vikings future, let's wait for this season to develop. :helmet:

elkabong82
"I want to end my career in Washington" - Donovan McNabb. /thread /this conspiracy crapola. Donovan wanted to come here, and was a part of why the trade with us happened.
MontanaSkins
Because McNabb had so much fun with the last diva WR he played with.

holmester
Do people forget that their is a franchise tag? There is no chance in hell that McNabb walks for this year. One thing that I would possibly consider is franchise-trading McNabb to the Vikes for a 1st rd pick if Favre retires. Their desperation to win now is clear as day and there is no doubt in my mind we could squeeze them for a 1st if McNabb continues to play well. Then use our 2 1st's and try to move up to get Luck. Just a thought.
The Tris
I love how people act like Sidney Rice's injury is the only problem with the Vikings, and that Moss signals the end of all their problems. Add up their attrocious secondary, aging DTs, and aging OL. Then remeber that they are going all in on a title run this year, and playing wait and see with all their contract extensions so that they would have to give long term deals to the following players on top of the extenstion for McNabb: Henderson, Greenway, Leber, Moss, Rice, Ray Edwards, and Pat Williams. For those scoring at home, their entire LB corp, two defensive linemen, and their top top WR all all unrestricted FAs next year. What makes people think they can sign all those players and McNabb under the new CBA. If the Vikes fall short of the SB this year, it won't be McNabb time, it's be blow it up time. DGREENHULK
He can't play the Eagles twice a year with the Vikes and yes if the franchise tag still exists in the new CBA he gets it or signs the extension.
