dockeryfan Posted October 4, 2010 Share Posted October 4, 2010 I have a STB from Verizon Fios, but I ordered the Tivo Premiere box, so I don't need the STB anymore. But I do need a cable card to plug into the Tivo, so it can work. Verizon rents these cards for 3.99/month. Is it possible to simply buy one somehow? Yes they are sticking it to you with having to rent the cable card, and no unfortunately you can't buy one. Verizon also prosecutes people who try to activate stolen set top boxes (if you were to buy one on ebay for example) , So I would assume the cable cards would be handled the same way.
