Mursilis
A sign of the apocalypse?!? I'm just stunned. It's definitely going to be an interesting season in the NFL this year. There don't appear to be too many dominant-looking teams, except maybe the Steelers, Ravens, and Jets. The Colts are actually last in their division right now! As for the NFC, it's wide open. Every NFC team looks like it has a flaw or two. The Redskins could easily make the playoffs if they decide to develop some consistency.
papaSkins27
They have a lot of youth and speed on that KC team, young 1st/2nd round talent all over the place. I like how they've slowly been building the O-line/D-line through the draft over the past few years (and KC's drafting overall recently), throw in Eric Berry and a decent coaching staff and KC looks like its heading in the right direction. I'll never be sold on Matt Cassel though, he just doesn't inspire confidence like I expect out of a QB, but if he can do enough to win I guess that's all you need. Flowers/ Berry/ Dorsey/ Albert/ Bowe/ Charles/ Jackson/ Arenas, are all guys I wouldn't mind seeing in B&G. Next year if they draft a stud LB and add some talent to the OL, maybe find a young NT prospect look for KC to make some noise for awhile.
Sekhmet728
Haha. This is why I love the NFL. Anything can happen. You also forgot to mention that the Rams are tied for first in their division
terrifNick21
The Rams have given up the fewest points in the NFC of the teams who've not had a bye.
Mursilis
Haha. This is why I love the NFL. Anything can happen. So true, especially in the NFC this year. Even the Lions are fighting hard (still losing, but fighting hard)!!
SonnyJ
Anyone who says they know what will happen from week-to-week this season is full of it. It'll probably be another 4-5 weeks before there is any kind of handle on teams.
thebluefood
The NFL this year is unpredictable and kind of weak. All the league "Super Powers" are playing kind of uninspired.

ExoDus84
The NFL universe has been in flux ever since Dallas won a playoff game last year, and threw off the time-space continuum. Something that rare is like seeing a unicorn. When it happens, the world needs to rebalance itself.

Well, as a Redskin fan sitting in the mist of all those kc chiefiers - I hope they end soon. There are people walking around here in Kansas with kc jeresey's from their youth and they have put on some weight Get my drift?

TSO
You think the Ravens look dominant? Even saying the Jets look so is a bit of a stretch, but the Ravens? Steelers have been impressive though. That defense they have there is almost unfair.

pjfootballer
Actually this is why I hate the NFL and parity. Sometimes I miss the dominant teams. I know the Colts, Steelers and Pats have been dominant, but I can't compare them to the 70s, 80s and 90s dynasties.
TSO
But if you take one player off that defense they don't make the playoffs. True, but it's one specific player. They can lose other guys, just not Troy.

I kind of agree, but I like this, too because this really proves the phrase "any given Sunday" to be true. There is as close to a level playing field this year as ever before. Besides, in the 90s, we had a Dallas Cowboys dynasty. Do you REALLY miss that?

Bubble Screen
The Bears beating the Packers then laying an egg against the Gnats? That surprised me more than anything else Not sure why this came as such a big surprise to some. I mean, the Bears, coming in, had one of the worst olines in the NFL. And teams coming off huge wins like the Bears were, typically will lay an egg the following week. Especially coming off a Monday night game, and then hitting the road. You can say that about alot of teams No team is as dependent on one defensive player (or any player, actually) moreso than the Steelers. Last year was a prime example of that. A comparable team to the Steelers right now is the Ravens. They are already without one of their top defensive players (Reed), and yet they are still a force. I would even go as far to say that if they lost Lewis right now they would still be a playoff team. Unbelievable how much Troy means to that team.
