SkinsHokieFan
Since you have to be registered to read over there, I'll go ahead and post it here http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193396 Trouble in Dallas is not all about wins and losses Let me proceed anything I post here by saying these are no my personal opinions and thoughts. I dont release this type of information lightly with out confirming and reaffirming everything I'm told in cases like this. The evidence, comments and information I received all point one direction and all come from multiple sources which is why I feel comfortable posting this. It's no secret there is some displeasure with some of the decisions and actions of the Coaching staff in Dallas by the players. You can see it in the body language, you can hear it in the tone of the players voices and you can see it in the quotes of the players but it's not only the players that are unhappy. There is even some tension among the coaches. After Sundays loss to Chicago, Newman expressed concern over the way the Cowboys practices are conducted. He is not alone with his concerns, just the first to express it. I'm told many members of the offensive staff and unit feel there is no urgency, tempo or sense of direction in practice. While it was reported Wade sent players to the locker room for mental mistakes last week several players and coaches call that bunk and it was business as usual. On at least two occasions last week it was evident to those around practice that Garrett and Wade were engaged in some intense exchange of words regarding the way practice was being run. It was also told me that on one occasion after failing to execute the same play 3 times in a row because of mental mistakes Romo sits to pee excused himself from the action for at least 15 minutes to collect his thoughts and engage in what appeared to be a pretty serious discussion with Jason Garrett off on the side. Veteran players such as Newman, James and Brooking also voiced displease in the circus Hollywood like atmosphere that surround the Cowboys practices. Players spoke of constant interruptions along the lines of being pulled out of drills by Jones to shake hands with celebrities, media by masses to cover events other then Cowboys football and the latest, open practices to the public which creates a distraction among other things. Also after Sundays loss many defensive players questioned the philosophy of laying back after having much success early in the 1st quarter. One member of the Cowboys FO told me that for the first time in Wade Phillips tenure members of the defensive unit are beginning to question his philosophy and yet another told me that it was relayed to Brooking that Wade still felt as if certain players on defense were not disciplined enough to hold assignments which limits his ability to call the game how he wants. Either way, there seems to be a trust issue developing between Wade and some of the defensive players. Just from the collection I posted here, the parts I left out that were redundant and the parts I could not post it became clear to me there is more then just a little drama in the air in Dallas. It seems what we have is a offensive coordinator questioning the head coach. Head coach questioning the offensive coordinator, players questioning the coaches and the coaches not trusting the players. The one thing I could not find out was if and what Jerry has to say about any of this. Given the information about Garrett and Wade I find it has to be very important to know Jones stance to have any idea if, what and when he would decide to do anything. Does he still see Garrett as the prodigy or has the star lost it's shine? If he still has Garrett's back I cant imagine a 0-3 start, a bye week and a tussle among the staff would spell anything good for Wade. If Jerry has soured on Garrett it's very likely this season plays out and everything is handled internally until the season is over. I'm also told a coach to keep an eye on is Ray Sherman who has become a favorite of Jerry Jones. If anything was to happen prior to seasons end and possible afterwords Ray Sherman is a coach who could find himself on a short list of interviews for the OC position and possibly Head Coach. When I pressed my sources about this news as to how and why would this come up regarding Sherman the door on my time was closed. It would seem to me this conclusion could been arrived at if the scenario was brought into question. Meaning, there had to be talk at some level. Just another sign that it seems everyone need to be watching their back in Dallas and from experience, you never seem to get the best product on the field when the focus is off of it. tr1
It seems what we have is a offensive coordinator questioning the head coach. Head coach questioning the offensive coordinator, players questioning the coaches and the coaches not trusting the players. Now, seriously, did anyone NOT see this coming? There is no 'team' there. It's a collection of individuals who look good individually, but have no identity, intensity or desire to win. They read the headlines, and believe them. This will be one sweet, sweet season to watch as the drama unfolds. I'm thinking Garrett gets the boot first. Romo sits to pee is the drama queen, and right now Romo sits to pee is pointing the finger at Garrett. Stay tuned to the fraying. :rotflmao:
TNSkinsFan
It is wonderful watching those wheels start to wobble a little. If they lose to the Texans, those wheels will fall off. They don't have the backbone to dig down hard for wins.

G.A.C.O.L.B.
Lol. It's gotta kill Cowboy fans that tr1 called this **** a loooooooooooong time ago. Thank God from Allen and Shanahan. For the first time since I can remember, I can look at another franchise, shake my head and laugh without looking over my shoulder at the disaster that is the Skins. Great position to be in. DarrellsMyHero28
I can only hope this is all true. Getting behind the scenes in that organization would be the greatest soap-opera ever.

SonnyJ
Didn't we come back from 0-5 a few years ago? And almost make the playoffs? While the ship was righted, they didn't almost make the playoffs. The Skins played their last two games with the playoffs out of reach. Point taken, though. The problem is that the division and conference were much weaker then. Not to mention that the Skins had a ridiculously easy schedule that season, a luxury that the Cowboys don't have this season . Think about it, the Redskins and Bears (at home) were supposed to be a relatively soft opening for them. No one imagined them starting 0-2 . Combine 0-3 with the team's fragile psyche, and we could be talking the Hindenburg here. :2cents:

Wade sadly shaking his head, Romo sits to pee with his head in his hands only to collapse in the shower later. They will end, not with a bang but with a whimper. Ken
Amazing what surfaces when you are 0-2. A few different plays in the first two weeks and we don't hear anything like this.

This is the SB bound 2010 pukes....don't you remember? If you guys were 2-0 and beat the Skins and Bears by 3 points each, the fan base would STILL be upset... The expectations for your team this year are/were enormous. Discounting any failures with 'if', 'coulda', 'would' and 'shoulda' is a failed post. Please, try harder. You're losing your edge. TSO
Actually, I doubt things were ever that bad here, except maybe when Spurrier was here. It was pretty bad last year, Longshot, specifically between Vinny and Zorn with the whole "I gave him a playoff roster" and Zorn saying "we have to make do with what we have" in response, lol. Cooley stated this offseason that Zorn pretty much lost the players after the Lions loss. Then the whole playcalling situation and bringing Sherman Lewis in. I don't know, Longshot... things were pretty awful here. I'd say it was as bad. Just not the same kind of "bad" I guess... Jerry is ruining the team with his "only for entertainment" shtick that leaves out the team actually being good as a priority.

Forehead
My favorite part is the part where Jerry Jones is pulling players out of drills to shake hands with celebs and **** like that. Man, that guy has got a pair to be pulling **** like that, and it speaks to how soft Wade Phillips really is. Can you imagine Bill Cowher or a coach of that type ever putting up with that? Jerry Jones would be lucky if Cowher didn't put him in a trash can and kick it down a hill.

And what owner is dumb enough to do that? So meeting with celebs is more important than practice? No wonder the Cowboys looked so bad during the preseason.
