my band's new song

Would you consider paying to see a band live whose drummer was the full-time lead singer ?

    • I would never want to pay to see a band with such a lead vocalist

    • Surely I would, as it would have zero effect on whether I pay to see the band or not.

not bad. the instruments are mixed very well. i think the lead vocal track is a little hot and should be brought down into the mix a bit. some added reverb, or maybe chorus, on the lead vocal track would be nice. just a little bit, though.

i think the background vocals are well mixed.

The music is pretty creative.

The guitar tone is godawful, way to thin and bright...and fuzzy, it throw off everything else in the mix.

And you cant hear the notes very well. It seriously sounds like a squier strat thru a $100 solid state amp.

I am tone snob :D

ha which are you referring to?

i take no offense - we had some great amps/guitars that we used. "the rain stopped today" used a ton of guitars and orange/marshall/vox amps.

both of these are getting cleaned up before mastering - the first one especially.

yah the guy we worked with is very good at what he does, but what he does is not neccessarily as effective with our sound as it might be in a perfect world.

he still made it a pop song, though, and he still turned an 8 minute song into a 5 and a half minute one (without making any painful sacrificies), so he did his job i think.
