hockeysc23
TK if you don't mind sharing some advice. My fiancee and I are looking for a new bed king size. I went and tried to NXG 400 (firm) and 250 (firm). Any major differences as to why one was more expensive than the other? The 250 actually felt more comfortable (I didn't sink in as much) but I don't mind spending more to get this right and don't know if it was just the test mattress or what not. Thanks. PM me if you want to buy either bed.
TK
Looked at mattresses today. Found a Stearns I really like. Regularly 3500 on sale for 1699.00 Think I'm going with that one. Layed on the top of the line Simmons and the Stearns and the Stearns felt better. Any constructive advice welcome. I hate mattress shopping. I payed 800 for the sealy piece of garbage we have. Huge depressions with a mountain between us. S&F is made & owned by Sealy. Sterns is a knock off of a Simmons BeautyRest. The foam encasement isn;t as dense, meaning it will wear down faster. Coils are heat temptered in a S&F where they're carbon steel in a Simmons BeautyRest. S&F runs a cheap fiber pad under their innerspring where Simmons runs the same dense foam under theirs that the side is incased in. Simmons is a much better built bed, but if the S&F feels better, then go with it. You're the one that has to sleep on it. Just don't expect the S&F to last forever. TK
TK, just checked and it's actually a Simmons Beautyrest ("Spa Collection" whatever that means) and not a Sealy as I previously thought. Is that any better? Also, mine is one of those no-flip models. Is that no good? Do we need to rotate it? No flip is fine as the industry went non flip about 8-10 years ago. Today's Simmons Beautyrest, you don't need to rotate unless you want to.

TK
Maybe TK isn't actually a mattress salesman...maybe he's just really good in bed :paranoid: No 'maybe'.
Predicto
I'm another Sealy victim. I got a king about 2 years ago. It's one of those that is no flip (which, I guess means it only has half the coils and CANNOT be flipped.) It already has the little depressions in the positions that my wife and I usually sleep in. Not a thing we can do about it. . Pretty much all good mattresses get those depressions. It's the nature of the beast. The real question is whether the mattress is still commfortable once those depressions appear. TK can probably answer that one.
