Star-Telegram: No debating it, Jerry was stupid for letting Crayton go

1) Landry will play closer to the LOS at SS his more natural position, so he won't be asked to cover WR's as much as in the past.

This sounds like Cowboys fans the last few years Roy Williams was in Dallas....it didn't work FYI.

No thats just Randy being Randy and criticizing the Cowboys no matter what.

It was Randy Gallowaste that wanted to cut Patrick Crayton BEFORE LAST season. The article was even posted on this board by tr1.

Tr1 and Gallowaste = Perfect together!

Nice post!

:rotflmao:

So, what's the difference? Crayton is better than Roy Williams...anyone who watches puke football could/can see that. You've gone from TO + Crayton to RW and the Austin-disappearing-act (do you really think he'll come close to 11 TDs this season?)

Your receiving corps is a disaster.

You need to hope Witten doesn't go down...because all will be lost.

I certify this post as a joke.:ols:

You put alot of faith into a guy who has not played a game yet. :pfft:

Here's a question for you guys. I keep seeing that Bryant is a rookie and therefore he won't do anything to help us this year, or at least early in the year. Fair enough. You might be right, you might be wrong. What about this? Your starting LT is a ROOKIE. If Bryant gets off to a slow start, well, he's not even a starter at this point. What do we lose? A few receptions? A TD or two? Maybe a game or two? If your ROOKIE LT gets off to a slow start, you could lose your aging QB that doesn't move like he once did. Who should worry more? Your ROOKIE LT gets to face the best pass rusher in the league right off the bat. He also gets to face the Giants and Eagles twice this year and both have some pretty good pass rushers. He will also face Freney, the Vikings, etc. Again, who should worry the most when it comes to playing their ROOKIE???????;)

Perhaps you're new to this football thing. There are positions that do well in year one and there are those that do not. Offensive lineman can do well as can running backs for instance. QB's and wideouts tend to take a lot longer to develop and rarely have statistically eye opening first years.

Not every position is the same.

Yea, I'm new to this FOOTBALL thing. LOL Please, don't embarrass yourself. RBs are normally the position that takes the least amount of time to make adjustments from college to the NFL. They rely more on physical skills and instincts. I know the argument abour receivers and like everything else, sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong. I also know this, besides the QB position, LT takes about as much of an adjustment as any other position. Period. It's also a pretty important position considering he is one of the most important components in keeping his QB off the turf. You really going to argue against this?

Disaster? Really? :ols: This is honestly one of the funniest things I have ever read here congrats :)

With the exception of Witten, yes, it's a disaster.

Austin had one good year. Williams is an under achiever. And, you have a rookie who hasn't done squat, except get injured.

Oh, and remember, Romo sits to pee isn't going to have all day to pass anymore. I suspect he'll have more INTs than Austin will have TDs.

I believe you're new to the 'reality' thing.

Keep trying, though. You're as funny as DOTS.

If Dallas' Wr situation is a "disaster" what does that say about a team like, say, the Redskins who are pining for Whoseyourdaddy so he can start?

Wow....I mean this really takes it to a new level for you. Only you could completely discount what Austin did last year and overlook the 7 tds Williams was able to get.

It is a sad state of affairs when a guy another team traded for a 7th round pick would start for your team even when injuries are not involved. That should tell you all you need to know about your statement.

Let me sum it up to you. All of our players are overrated. Ware is average at best. Romo sits to pee will set the record for interceptions this year. None of our wide receivers can stretch a defense or even contribute. Austin is a one year wonder, Williams should be cut, and Bryant will never amount to anything. Our OL should just stay home because Romo sits to pee will be killed anyway. Not sure why this matters because he isn't any good anyway. We can't cover great receivers like Washington has on their roster and our coaching staff is inept at judging talent, game planning, or just in anything football related in general. We're doomed.

Just because it didn't work for Roy Boy, doesn't mean it won't work for Landry. He was the SS when Sean was here. For 3/4ths of his rookie season he was very effective playing closer to the LOS. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. We'll see.

Because nobody threw deep on Sean because he would rip their face off and wear it as a Halloween mask!

A little different with Horton back there.

Also Roy Willy had success early because Darren Woodson was the other Safety.

I know preseason is not an indicator of how well a player will do, but Trent had to face the Jets and Ravens, each of them have a pretty good pash rushing end on the right side. He did good. Nothing spectacular, missed a few blocks, but came right back and made his blocks. McNabb was able to step up out of trouble a few times against the Ravens. And Grossman is not as nimble as McNabb, so he wasn't going to escape trouble.
