Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said he had told backup quarterbacks Max Hall and John Skelton they had made the team's 53-man roster. With Derek Anderson all but officially designated as the Cardinals' No. 1 quarterback, that means veteran Matt Leinart almost surely will be released or traded after being he 10th overall pick in 2006. Wells was playing right guard after starting 64 games in a row at left guard for Arizona. He was moved there after Arizona signed former Steelers and New York Jets left guard Alan Faneca as a free agent this summer. Texans Houston's kicking situation was resolved when coach Gary Kubiak kept veteran Neil Rackers and cut former Steeler Kris Brown, the only player left from Houston's inaugural 2002 season. Rackers was signed as a free agent in the offseason. Cowboys Dallas traded unhappy wide receiver Patrick Crayton to San Diego for a late-round draft choice in April after he became expendable when the Cowboys drafted Dez Bryant in the first round this year. Broncos LenDale White, who joined Denver as a free agent last month, is out for the season after the Broncos' running back sustained a ruptured right Achilles' tendon in the exhibition game Thursday at Minnesota. Giants New York has acquired quarterback Sage Rosenfels from Minnesota for an undisclosed draft pick, according to an anonymous league source. 49ers Former Penn State quarterback and 49ers special-teams captain/running back Michael Robinson was among 10 players San Francisco released.
