authentic
click for the rest "I'm not unsettled at all," fullback Mike Sellers said over McNabb's status for the season opener. "He heals pretty well. I think he'll be ready to go."Sellers, who himself is out with a sprained knee but expects to start the opener as well, went on to say, "I don't even know where that report came from. We're sitting there watching ESPN, saying, 'Huh?' " Santana Moss agreed with Sellers. "Yeah, I expect him to be out there," the receiver said. "I'm not even worried about it." McNabb again didn't practice on Monday, but appeared to be walking without much of a limp as he wore a knee-high compression stocking on his left foot. Following practice, the quarterback strolled with ease across the locker room wearing flip-flops. "He'll be ready. He'll play," running back Willie Parker said. "He knows what to do to get his body right." Of course, Shanahan continued to play it close to the vest when asked of McNabb's status. "Still getting treatment," Shanahan said. "Just still day-to-day."

Ahmayzin
I love Shanahan. Exactly, as it was already mentioned, "make em sweat". Shoot, for all we know, on opening day our starting Qb could be Gilbert Godfrey. HAIL MOTHER SCRATCHERS!!!! Teach em some moves Donovan aka Bruce Leroy. illone
Don't the Skins have a PR rep that sits these guys down and tells them how to provide counter intelligence to the media? :whoknows:
Sandman69
I hope he says McNabb will be a game time decision and doesn't look good for the opener. Even if he knows he is going to play. Screw Dulass!
kevinklein
They feel the same way as we. Kind of funny that Fast Willie was quoted. I'd say its pretty unlikely that he's out there Sept. 12.

Bibby
Like a poster said in a thread I saw earlier. ESPN is just trying to stop Cowboy nation from hitting the panic button over their preseason games.

kleese
I'm all for Shanny playing it close to the vest...but let's not kid ourselves, I don't think Dallas would really need to "prepare" for Rex.
Voice_of_Reason
I'm all for Shanny playing it close to the vest...but let's not kid ourselves, I don't think Dallas would really need to "prepare" for Rex. Actually, they would. The two QBs are so different, you approach them differently. If you want to fluster Rex, you need to get him out of the pocket and running, and he'll air mail INTs all day. If you let him sit in the pocket, he can actually be pretty effective. With McNabb, it's the opposite. You want to contain him in the pocket, because he's the most dangerous when he gets outside the pocket and can improvise, either run or pass. I actually firmly believe that the boot that McNabb is wearing is completely a show piece, he's absolutely fine, and they are practicing at nights by candle light. Ok, maybe not. But to think he won't be ready to go in the opener is ridiculous. That's like Bill B. putting Tom Brady on the injury report every week.
Brotherz
lol. Shanahan should take everyone aside and report to the media its REAL bad...so Dallas plans for Rex... Nope I love it just the way it is. Cmon, if everyone was all negative about it, it would wreak of a Shanny game. As it is, everyone is acting like of course he will play but shanny still just saying "day to day". Wade can't tell what the real story is with that. He actually could think that the everyone is being told to downplay the injury! You can't really tell what the truth is. . . which is actually why I am nervous that he really might be injured. . . . see what I mean? :dallasuck
Supreme Wu
meh. Dallas has not impressed me for years. We hang with them at our worst -- with either Mcnabb or Rex I think the Skins will win at home, in the opener
Mickalino
Shoot, for all we know, on opening day our starting Qb could be Gilbert Godfrey. Godfrey throws a mean slant across field against his normal throwing motion. Quit bein a hater.

I say Dallas is just as aware of the situation as we are...they will "prepare" for McNabb and then rejoice if Rex has to go. I don't think they would drastically need to alter their approach if Sexy happened to be on the field week one.

I don't think they would drastically need to alter their approach if Sexy happened to be on the field week one. Agreed. Rex may not stand up to the blitz as well, and Donovan may do well outside the pocket, but he's not the same threat running outside as he once was. As soon as I heard that Shanahan was putting McNabb's status in doubt over the ankle, I knew it was malarky. I'm sure the Cowboys brass knows that as well. Do any of us seriously believe he won't play? Even if he's banged up, he'll be out there against the Cowboys in prime time for the season opener.
